Oh! I had one more Q about this just to expand on the idea. Can you use the MB3 buttons only to both turn the pedal on and off with the desired preset? like MB3 left switch = turn the SA pedal on with preset 1 selected, step again to turn off/bypass; MB3 middle switch = turn SA pedal on with preset 2 selected, step again to turn off; etc.
Do you mean Morningstar MC3? If so yes, it’ll do that with ease using secondary press actions.

Oh I meant the Midi Baby 3, so that it wouldn't need the additional box. Like, everything on my board has to just be one step for one action. I hate pedals having doubletaps or holds or whatever, at least partially that they screw me up because I do those things by accident far too often.

The MB3 has some programmable secondary button functions too.

A question about downloading from the community...
How much data would a typical patch contain? I wonder since I will be without wifi in the practice studio for one of my bands. Have a quantity restriction on my smart phone.
I don’t have the computer in front of me now, but from memory:

Patches themselves are tiny xml files. But browsing the community in the app automatically downloads profile pics of creators too, which is the biggest data transfer involved. In any case it’s much less data than browsing a typical website, or just the regular idle traffic from the connected apps on your device. I don’t see a limited data plan causing any issue at all.

Great news! Thank you for clarifying.

I'm the guy that posted all the MIDI Baby 3 stuff above, so I wanted to make sure this was addressed. Yes, you should absolutely be able to do that.

MIDI-Baby configuration editor

That link is for the MIDI Baby/3 editor, you can play around and even program with it even if you don't have the device connected (or don't own one yet). You can set up successive button presses to cycle through different commands. So, in my current setup, I'm sending successive CC#104 messages that will give an "on" message for presets 1-8. A different button does the same thing for presets 9-16, and so on.

BUT, you could just set it up so that the first press is a CC#104 message, and the next one is (I believe) a CC#103 message, which would turn it to off/bypass. There is also CC#105, which is the message just for the bypass switch itself, though of course you have the C4's own button that already does that.

Now that I've had a few weeks/gigs with the C4, I am so happy I purchased it. With what you can add to just dry bass without getting synthy is a game changer for me. I've gone from 10 pedals down to 3. I only use effects for specific parts, short sections, etc. and the fact that I am able to accomplish the same goals with the C4, a comp and a delay blows my mind.

Phaser with fuzz like my Helix and Doom? Yup, was able to make that happen. Octave up organ similar to my Sub N Up? Yep. Funky envelope filter close to my Wonderlove? Absolutely. Enough synthy stuff to get fired from any band? And then some. I'm using a DMC micro for patch scrolling, it's just nuts how many different sounds can be loaded into the pedal.

Are you uploading any of your patches to share with the community? I've been working on a couple but am not happy enough to upload them yet.

Not yet. I wasn't sure how they would translate to the community based on my bass/amp settings. I built them for live use.

I hope I can post this here but I am really bad with the editor so far and could use a little help.
Does anyone know (roughly) how I can achieve a bass sound in Don't You Know from Jacob Collier? You can hear it from second 42 onwards:

I guess some octave down + little bit of fuzz?

If anyone has any idea or a tip on wich type of distortion, type of filtering (if any) the shape of LFO (if any) I should use, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the props, @rsmith601! @In3d1ble - I haven't had a ton of time for programming lately* as Ms. 5sg. and I are house hunting in a nutzo market. We've been outbid several times and a couple of the houses we've looked at have gone for $40k-$90k more than asking price. :wideyed: Even our realtor is like "*** is happening?!"

But I'll see what I can do!

*My Ultrawave is on my desk staring at me, begging for more attention.

My Meridian Funkulator Patch II is now published. I think I've pretty much nailed it this time.
For a pure OC-2 wet signal, max out the mix knob and dial control 2 to min. For a funkulator sound, set the mix to about 4 o'clock, Set the Control 2 to about 2 o'clock and Control 1 maxed. Then use an expression pedal to dial in the filter.

I always kinda wanted to get an actual Meridian Funkulator, it's been on the G.A.S. list for a good long while. Just never pulled the trigger. Looking forward to checking out your patch!

We bought house last year and we were quite lucky but the market is, indeed, crazy! Good luck
