Sometimes when I'm playing around with presets I get a pip pip sound. If I mash the strings it goes away, but I guess I play with a light touch and don't really want to dig in that hard. How can I control this?
Since there is no baseline for presets they will vary depending on the creator's use of the effect and set up. I will always sample presets at a reduced volume and when deciding to save them will check the input and output settings to my own baseline to keep patches as consistent as possible.

I also make these settings while running through all of the gear and amp, etc. that will be used on stage in order to have consistent volume between patches. On a few patches I set the output slightly higher where it makes sense. I have noticed that my backup amp, that has a tube preamp and a digital power section, I get more variation between the patches than with my normal all analog amps. So you may find that you need to use all the same equipment when setting the output on the pedals, unless you don't mind adjusting your volume per song. Also, on some of the C4 patches, the input triggering is very sensitive and I need to pay extra attention to string muting to avoid extraneous sounds. Love the C4 pedal!

Adjust the input gain on the preset and resave.
I've tried that and still get pip pip sound. I've tried adjusting the levels on voices with not a lot of luck.

Yup I've been doing this with no luck.

Might have something to do with whether fast or accurate tracking is selected. Difficult to know exactly what you mean by your description. Perhaps post an audio clip to show the issue.

Hey all,

I will be receiving my C4 synth very soon and I'm looking forward to diving into it. I have some questions with regards to midi.

I currently have a DG ADAM which I will be using with the C4 synth. Ideally I would like to get one midi footswitch controller like the Ampero Control to control both of them. Is this even possible?

Neither the DG ADAM or the C4 have MIDI out/thru. The Ampero Control supports MIDI over USB so I was thinking I could control the C4 via the MIDI over USB and then connect the DG ADAM to the Ampero Control via the 5-pin DIN and configure the midi messages so that each pedal responds to different messages.

As you can probably tell, I'm a novice at MIDI and would like to understand whether this is even possible.

Thanks!

This will work if your controller can act as a USB host. It should be detailed in its manual.

Anyone controlling the C4 via a HX Stomp?
Can it be done? How?
This is relevant to my interests as well!

I just started doing this - I'm sure others can chime in with more complex setups, but this works for me. FWIW, I use the SA MIDI Adapter, but it should work fine with the Neuro Hub too.
  1. Enter the Command Center on the HX Stomp
  2. Select one of the lightning bolt icons (one-time events that are fired when that patch and/or Snapshot is selected)
  3. Scroll the left encoder until you see MIDI options
  4. In my main patch, I use two lightning bolts per Snapshot - one sends the desired on/off state to the C4 using MIDI CC 102 (check [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] for other CC values) and the second sends a PC message with a slight delay (I think 50ms) to change presets on the C4 as needed
  5. Now test it and see if it did the right thing :)
    1. FWIW, I had to fiddle with the delay timing when I was both changing presets and turning on/off
In the HX Command Center, you can also have expression pedal(s) or unused stomp buttons send MIDI messages, e.g. if you wanted to hook an expression pedal up to the Filter cutoff frequency on the C4.

Hope that helps get you started - I'm not at my board at the moment, so this is from memory, but it's pretty straightforward once you know where to look in the Command Center. Have fun!

Thanks a lot for the explanation..
Still a little lost but will give it a shot…
The other option is to get the Disaster Area DMC PRO MIDI pedal but if I can do it thru the HX Stomp I would prefer it that way

cheers,
Cool ✌️

Sure thing. I'm getting a slow start to my day, so I fired up my board and took a very rudimentary video showing the steps I mention. Maybe this will help contextualize things.

Definitely helps
Need to figure it out how I will switch the presets on the C4. Probably be fine with just 3/4 presets and use the HX in Snapshot mode. Just need to figure it out…

We have very similar boards
Just got a CAPO and a Cali76 Stacked

Looking forward to make all work
Thanks
Cool

New C4 user here and so far this thing rocks!
I've done a search and can't find the answer I'm looking for, so I thought I'd ask here.

Is there an easy way to move around presets stored in the pedal using the Neuro desktop app?

For instance, moving preset 001 Pure Octaves to an empty location such as 020.

I've tried click/hold on 001 and dragging/dropping it to 020, but that doesn't seem to work.
Seems like if I want to save 001, I'd have to 'export' it and save it to my PC, then 'import' it back to the pedal and save it in 020. Is this the only way to accomplish moving presets around?

Drag and drop will be in 3.0.

for now, click the preset you want to “move”. Press “save as”, then click into an empty slot. Then save. Now click the old location once to highlight it, then right-click and press “erase”.

Worked like a charm, thank you Quatschmacher!

Has a release date been set for v3.0?

Hey guys,

Very new to midi and trying to figure this out! I'm running from a Morningstar MC3 in to the midi in on my HX Stomp, then from the midi thru on the Stomp to a Source Audio SA168 midi adaptor and in to the C4.

I have the Stomp set as channel 1 and the C4 as channel 2.

I can get the MC3 to control the Stomp just fine, but it won't do anything to the C4. I've tried CC 102 to turn it on, and 104 to turn presets on, but nothing.

Any ideas? Am I doing something obviously stupid?

Thanks

Did you set the midi channel for the c4 in the neuro app?
