source audio c4

Hi, yes I changed it to channel 2 in the Neuro desktop editor as the Stomp is channel 1.
Are you sending out the relevant messages on channel 2 from the MC3?

What value does the CC message have?

Have you checked the C4’s midi map to ensure that message is actually assigned?

If above all checks out try plugging adapter directly from MC3 to C4. If that works but going through Stomp doesn’t, you need to make sure MIDI thru is enabled in Stomp.

Hi mate, I see you on Basschat all the time!

Yes, MC3 sending to channel 2.

I'm trying CC102 value 127 to engage the pedal, and CC104 to engage a preset.

Checked the midi map and those parameters are what I expected.

Thru mode is activated on the Stomp, and I tried directly from the MC3 to the C4 and same result.

I swear the adapter had a red light when I first plugged it in but there's no red light now.

The adapter is so new that there's next to no available info on it.

A week into using the C4 and the DMC.micro Pro and it's proving to be equal parts reward and frustration. I'm a noob to this synth pedal/midi setup, so I'm hoping you fine folks can help.

First, the C4.
When the toggle switch is in position 1 Blue Circle and I apply power to the pedal and activate it, a swell type sound/preset is loaded automatically, but it's not one of the original 6 presets. If I move the toggle to position 2 or 3 and then back to position 1, only then do I hear the preset that is supposed to be loaded in position 1. But when I start up the pedal with the toggle in position 2 or 3, everything is normal and it works like it's supposed to. I've done a factory reset multiple times, but it doesn't fix the problem. Any idea what's happening here and how to fix this?

DMC.micro Pro
When I got the DMC.mP I used the youtube video Quick Tips 9 Source Audio C4 to setup the unit. Everything seems to work just fine with no problems. However, when in P (preset mode) the DMC only scrolls through presets 00 to 12. How can I get preset mode to scroll through 00 to 128?

C4: if you're just doing the single switch reset, ie just holding down the pedal switch, try instead holding down both the pedal switch and the control button on top while plugging the pedal back in. Keep holding until the pedal light turns red.

Micro Pro: The first box of the DMC Editor sets how many presets are available (make sure your micro pro isn't in host mode). Does it say 12?

While not exactly the same, I've been using one of the oc2 presets with great success and good feedback with my cover band.

thanks for that. I actually finally got a handle on it by starting with a “blank for bass” preset off the SA community on neuro. Added a sine and a square voice and then just a plain input 1 voice. Twiddled a few knobs and got surprisingly close to the original. Had been trying to modify some of the community 808 patches , but mostly got frustrated with those. I’ll try to remember to load mine to the community tonight. It was a confidence booster to finally hit a goal with programming something myself!

You’ll need to set the c into edit mode at startup, you can set the number of presets to scroll through there.

make sure your running the latest firmware on your c4 and do a factory reset after backing up your c4.

I use a Source Audio C4 and a Spectrum Filter, and I'm running into calibration issues with my passive basses. When I start the calibration process and dial up the input knob while plucking, I never reach the stage where the LED starts flashing red. The green LED gets somewhat brighter, but even when I pluck very hard, it seems like the signal is too weak to reach the optimal input level.

I connected a Fender Downtown Express pre-amp and hooked up the Source Audio devices afterward. With the pre-amp at maximum volume and the EQ off, there’s still no red light. However, when I set the mids to the maximum, the input becomes strong enough for the pedals to function properly. At that point, all my presets sound much better, and the glitches and tracking issues disappear.

Now I'm stuck with an EQ that needs to have the mids dialed in every time I use the Source Audio pedals.

Are there any specific instructions for dealing with passive basses?

I’ve heard about this a couple of times but never experienced it myself. I have had no problems whatsoever with my passive basses. My input gain is set to around around 10 o’clock and can easily get into the red. It might be worth trying a factory reset. Are you plugging into input 1 and adjusting input gain 1?

Yes, tried a hard reset and use input and gain 1. Thx.

Maybe my jazz bass needs new roundwounds, Although my P-bass has new flats, the issue is the same..
.
I’d do a factory reset (I think it’s holding the footswitch while powering on or something, but should be documented documented somewhere). Then reflash the latest firmware.

Done that but didn't solve it. After the factory reset, the C4 still has the latest 1.21 firmware btw.

For now, I cranked up the EQ's on the preamp evenly and I might have to settle with that..
Yes, it will still have the same firmware but reloading it can flush out problems.
