source audio c4

What hub are you using for this? Have you noticed any issues going this route?

I'm guessing the path is C4 to the USB Hub, USB hub out to MIDI device and/or computer?

I always have good luck with Anker ymmv. I don't have any issues with either the netbook or my pc desktop that I am using to control my usb midi devices. I am running Neuro Desktop for the C4 and Aftershock plus Zoom Exit and Share for my B3. I may be swapping that soon for a Zoom MS60b and running ToneLibZoom instead.

Are you running with MIDI too? Seems like the Neuro hub may be my only option.

You might try connecting everything through a USB Hub to save wear and tear on your C4. I have all my USB Midi pedals connected to an inexpensive USB 4 port hub that I connect to my computer running Neuro Desktop and other programs. It's much easier to replace the inexpensive hub than to have issues with the USB port on your pedal.

As it stands now i have to keep swapping the Mini usb cables between the C4 and my ghost.micro and my computer when test out a patch with the expression pedal. (I can audition it with the PC connected...just cant test with MIDI controller and EP.) It's tedious to have to swap the mini usb cables on the back of the C4 frequently. Is there a way to avoid having to do this?

How are other folks approaching testing out with different MIDI triggers (expression pedals, switches)? Thanks!

For my Aftershock expression, I'm sending expression over midi from a Boss ES-5. That's connecting to my SA hub and relaying midi to the Aftershock on Midi ch 1 to the hub and the hub is sending that on to my Aftershock which is also on midi 1. The hub is controlling my Aftershock via it's scenes.
The expression is a delayed, feels disconnected and not very accurate.

For my C4, I'm also sending expression over midi from my Boss ES-5. My C4 is connected to my hub on Midi ch7 and the hub acts as a midi interpreter / repeater. So my Boss ES-5 is sending expression midi directly to Midi ch 7 and this is working really well with almost no latency or delay. It feels like a directly connected expression.

I just now figured out that it doesn't consistently like my gen1 Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2plus. I removed a couple pedals and swapped power cables and now it seems all fine. If it doesn't stay this way, I'll just resort to the walwart.
I had the same problem until I found out that I was using a low power output (the first 4 deliver 100mA). Make sure you plug into the 250mA output and everything will be fine.

What kind of hub are you using? Are you able to program the C4 via a computer and test your Midi-connected expression pedal w/o having to swap cables? Thanks!

Have you tried putting the Aftershock on MIDI ch 2(or any ch other than 1)? That way the hub just needs to forward instead of process and forward the MIDI.

Just got my C4 this week, liking it a lot, however,....having a hard time finding a patch to do a simple clean triplet bass line, think , The Way you Make Me feel/Michael Jackson. Everything I've tried comes out very garbled and "bwapy" , like that term? Looking for something thats smooth and doesn't garble on those triplets. Bum ba bumbumbum, instead of bwap bwa bwapbwapbwap. Thanks in advance and hope my description at least gave you a giggle. ;) BTW, I have run through all the C4 presets in the cloud library , no real luck there. I realize I'll have to tweak a patch to get what I'm after, just not finding a good starting point.

Most of my C4 patches are for cover songs and I've done a couple Michael Jackson tunes. I'll give it a try this weekend. Stay tuned...

Killer board! P&C, FI & a C4?!!? Holy crap, this board would be the most fun, and least productive pedalboard for me, I wouldn't be able to stop giggling ;)

How are you finding the editors compare for the Impact VS C4? Is one easier to work with than the other?
And does plugging/unplugging leads from either to do this differ much?
Do you have a preference between these two?

By necessity, I've had to use the Neuro editor to max out the number of presets and to enable my expression pedal from the MC6. It's tedious. At the recommendation of a guy at DMC, I'm now numbering the presets from my computer and storing them to My Library, and then pushing them from my iPhone. (From the iphone, it's a one-way process.) That way I can keep both my Midi controller and Neuro Editor connected at the same time and make adjustments more quickly. Not the ideal, but ok. I haven't taken the time to really absorb the sound editor yet, but plan to reread @BurningSkies excellent posts. (I really need a couple excellent Octave patches: one octave down, and another Octave down + Octave +1; as well as a Mu-Tron III replacement patch)

I haven’t experimented much with the FI EDITOR. I've just used it to load patches from the website. It's very confusing to me, especially with the addition of FLEXIs which look very cool. Once I get a better handle on MIDI programming basics, I'll delve deeper in the components of each synth pedal.

Oddly, I'm still using the H9 mostly...it's just so much easier to use, program, and edit. It also can get some great synth sounds as well.

Fun stuff!
