I experienced the same thing. Lotta dropped notes and lotta just community presets that were SUPER loud I did the input calibration but I feel like somethings off

I’m assuming your “synth” is the C4.
I’d take the octave and envelope off your board, as they’ve been made redundant, and put the C4 first after your tuner.

I agree. The C4 absolutely rules in its chameleon abilities, but I still treasure the option of adding flavor with separate pedals in the chain. Here's how I have my board set up at the moment. The only thing missing here is my Lab compressor and Fifth Gear OD (order is right to left):
The DMC-8 I got at a suspiciously good price is the real deal. Updated the firmware tonight and, after some manual reading and a couple of factory resets after doing things I didn't understand heh, I've figured out Device vs Preset mode, and am scrolling up & down the C4's patches.
Next up is testing sounds like the mild overdrive, getting more patches burned in, and figuring out why some patches have a stiff gate to jump over while others don't; I'm definitely missing something. Then, adding two more pedals & expression to the DMC-8 while figuring out how to create space for the C4 & DMC on my board
The synth oscillators are magic secret sauce. I'd kick over 121 old ladies for classic ADSR envelope control, but limitations are just walls off of which to bounce epic shots, so greatness is forthcoming!

Yes, on my 3 way switch in green mode, I have
1) set to a discrete OC-2 patch (with no dry signal).
2) is a generic synth with a slow envelope and
3) is an OC-2 and envelope each controlled by the two lower knobs. So if I ever need a simple octaver, that's 3) and I turn down the Control 2 dial to take out the filter. Or control 1 to keep the filter but loose the octaver. Or keep them both if I want that sound.
In the red zone:
1) is set to a Daft Punk sequencer sound...found on the cloud community...it's such an amazingly fun patch.
2) is now Proton Lenny's Blade brass - so sweet and thanks a billion for this patch!
3) is my rush to patch for testing stuff out for gigs etc.
Outside of those 6...my C4's midi memory is now up to 94 specific patches...which is nearly as much as my H9's...which goes to show how crazy versatile this pedal is.
So my advise is to stick with it, don't rush it and slowly lean the interfaces...it's a deep dive pedal and initially it will feel like a huge wall of things to learn. But it's well worth the effort.

I found it easiest to setup an initialized patch. Create it exactly how you want it in regards to being 'blank', but have your tracking settings, routings settings, etc already saved. Then go through you C4 and save that initialized patch to all your blank presets. Then you are always starting from an initialized patch!woke up early to play before work

Yes, essentially, create a preset that is your ideal blank patch. If you want a quick start to this, I believe Nathan Navaro has a preset on the Neuro Community for a basic initialized patch. But your bass's specific output and settings might have you tweak it a bit to really dial it in.
@drewphishes - I certainly don't mean this in a snarky way, but it seems like you may be somewhat new to pedals as deep as the C4. Taking some time to read through the manual would probably help out with understanding what the C4 is about and can do. I'm pretty comfortable with deep diving into programming pedals and have had the C4 for a couple months now, and I'm still learning things from the manual and keep it on my iPad for easy reference!
The C4 is a pedal you definitely have to spend some quality time with, and really dial it in to your gear and play style, but having a good understanding of what it can do will really help you enjoy this pedal to the fullest.

Ive read the manual 3 times. Def need to spend some time with it but the questions I am asking are not talked about in the manual
The question you have about the phone app section is in regards to hardware options of the C4 and page 22 of the manual should help out here. The specific screenshot you posted refers to calibrating an expression pedal if needed (if you have one connected via the Hub). It'll help you fine tune how your exp works.

An initialized patch is a term that we're using simply to refer to a "blank" patch. It's not discussed in the manual, because everyone's preference here is relative... Your initialized patch may include just a single mono input channel, while mine may start with a single saw voice. As @Proton Lenny mentioned, check out Nathan Navarro's Initialize Bass patch to get you started. I saved that patch to my C4 and changed a couple things to my preference, like adjusting the output volume down to 85, because I'm on primarily active basses with a hotter output and that's something I've been doing in general on all my patches (sometimes even lower, depending on the patch).

thats a good idea. I will do that. How are you taming your active basess. It plays so nice with my p bass. but my modulus is wayyyy hotter, just decreasing the input gain stage?
Actually, I usually start by leaving the Input at default (127) to start. It can have a somewhat dramatic impact on the overall sound of the patch, depending on what you're doing. I adjust it up or down as needed, if I'm not getting the sound I want. Adjusting the output stage is usually where I account for output volume, and I try to get as close as I can to unity with the pedal off.

so with presets that say the scale or like c7 chords or things like that, does it just play a 7th on the note thats played? or is it only programmed for one scale?
Well honestly you might be better off just playing around with some of those presets to see for yourself
. But yeah, the harmonizer works by only giving you chords that exist within the chosen key (so it won’t give you a C note if you have the harmonizer set to AMajor for example).
