source audio c4

does anyone have a run down about what each of the filter styles does or what each of the envelopes do
it would be cool to make a list of laments terms for the filters and such
There's a good breakdown in the SA Manta manual, which is on line. I think it was quoted in this thread but I don't recall where. EDIT: - it's here source audio c4

and... I don't think you meant "laments" but it's funny in context...

Reading through a recent "Which envelope filter" thread and feeling grateful for and still delighted with my C4. :D

Likewise. My C4 is killing the my Analogue Octaver / Filter / Synth gas completely. Job done...time to move onto other areas of my board

Me three. And I'm pretty confident saying that my bandmates all agree as well. ;);)

Being able to get pretty close to (or even improve on*) all my favorite envelope sounds and having the synth features in one place has been killer. I'll guess I'll go ahead and say it even though it sounds gushy... It's gotta be my "If I Could Only Have One" pedal.

5sg.

*based on my personal taste

Noticing some weird behavior I cant figure out....

I've got a group of presets on my C4 (slots 16-24) that all work correctly when in the Neuro desktop.

When I plug back into my DMC Micro, it doesn't recognize the presets for those presets?

Anyone have an idea whats going on here?

Thanks!

So if you are I “Device Mode” on the DMC and toggle up and down through those presets what do you hear?

Yeah I am running the Micro in Device mode, A. It will toggle all my presets as intended, but its that particular group that it won't play correctly.

In that window of presets it will either latch to a previous preset for several slots, or have a random preset that I'm not sure where its coming from.

Interesting. Have you tried using the mobile Neuro App to burn a new preset onto the slot you are in while connected to the DMC to see if it immediately changes? Also- is the DMC updated to the latest firmware?

I just updated to the most recent firmware to see if that was causing the issue, no change.

I'm wondering if this is actually on the C4 side of things. I've had odd behavior like this before with presets sticking, not generating the saved preset sound, etc.

I just burned a new preset into one of the problematic slots and it stuck without issue.

Seems there is something up with several of the presets I have saved. If I am remembering correctly, I may have made and edited the problem presets during that time when there was a "critical" issue where everyone was instructed to update immediately. I missed the boat on that at the time

so the c4 can download all spectrum presets, can the spectrum download all c4?
I think the answer is no. It's helpful to think of the C4 as a "Spectrum+." There are parameters and whatnot in C4 presets that the Spectrum can't interpret. But the Spectrum is contained completely in the C4.

C4 can load spectrum presets, but spectrum cannot load c4 presets. This was done to keep the price point down on C4, so that filter guys didn’t think they were spending more money for the synth features that they didn’t want. We felt that it was going to be a hard sell for filter users to spend over $200 on an envelope filter, when the large majority are under $200.

For those of you using the DMC micro. How are you using it? I believe that them most obvious use should be preset up/preset down. But cannot be used in other ways? For example assign each button to a single preset?

I use it just to increment presets up or down. Sometimes to activate the C4, but more often I just use the foot switch on the C4 itself to activate it.

As far as I know, there’s no ability to assign each button to a single preset.

enabling utility mode on the dmc will allow for up to 3 CC message operations that can be assigned, so there’s a lot of potential for doing other things with the dmc.

In my case it's even worse. The C4 replaced my Subterranea and my Proton (and is a decent Phaser and Tremolo).
It's the last pedal I bought since September last year (and arrived on the same day as the MBD-1). I'm not even sure what I'm still doing here. :)

so where is harmony 2 at? I see in the manual that harmony 2 applies to all things labeled 2 as in sin 2 saw 2 etc, but where do you set that I only see 1 harmony box? is it only possible to have 1 harmony at a time?

Don't have it in front of me at the moment, but I think with my "ethereal stratosphere harmonies" patch, I set up 2 sines and a square controlled as follows:

Square 1: +2 oct, +7th (via Interval 1)
Sine 1: +3 oct, +7 semitones (fixed pitch)
Sine 2: +3 oct, +3rd (via Interval 2)

In D Ionian aka Major, I have a D Maj 7th chord when you include the root note, and can walk up and down the D scale and get various permutations.

But that's how you can get full use of the two Intervals, by planning out the voice assignments.
