Actually if your dry bass is the root note I’m pretty certain it will play still, but the harmonized oscillators will only play notes in the chosen scale
Made my second from-scratch patch this evening, essentially an emulation of a dirty blended 808 or maybe a Juno-esque type sound with sharp envelope. These custom ones thus far are for the band I'm playing my 7-string in, where I might go back and forth between low bass parts and ambient harmony, or in the first patch, I'll play a bass note and 3 octaves up, harmonies swell in over it.
Stuff like assigning all voices to Envelope 1 and setting the Processor Pan exclusively to Processor 1, but then having Filter 1's depth controlled by ENV/LFO 2... it takes keeping close watch on controls to know why certain things are happening. Deconstructing some community patches has been super helpful in getting familiar with the control routing!
Btw, @Proton Lenny , I'm making new friends with your Pony patch. Haha... but also, while tweaking its input gain and whatnot for my setup, I added a tiny bit of detune to Voice 2, just to 137, and I thiiink that might bring in an extra element that's present in the original song. Could be wrong but I think so.

Honestly that patch was my very slight tweak on someone else pony patch. Its a communal effort!
@Proton Lenny very cool video super helpful. Question I see that at the beginning the first sort of envelope filter sounds you make both Processors 1 and 2 are on, are you sending the signal thru both?
if I wanted to take something and make it more bubbly and wet, where would I look in the editor?
Just remember if you end up looking at the bigger brother controllers, be careful they're Gen3, bc Gen2 ones are super cheap now and not at all compatible with the C4. Luckily all DMC.micro controllers are Gen3 since they're so new. I just checked and there really aren't any used ones out there lol...I guess they're getting snapped up along with C4s
Well,...catastrophic failure with my C4 tonight. Spent the last two days tweaking sounds and arranging my library to use the neuro app with my phone. I get to the gig and get everything set up, plug the C4 into my phone, open the neuro app , go to library, and get a never ending spinning wheel. 
Okay I think, I'll unplug it, turn it off, reboot my phone and try again. Same result. I check community, loads right up just fine. Go back to library, spinning wheel. Okay, try the stock factory stuff. Loads right up and everything loads as it should. library again,.....nada,....So I tell myself, I'll just use some of the factory presets for tonight and not worry about it till tomorrow at home.
We do a sound check, I go to load a filter, my volume drops to about half and no filter coming through.
I try another factory preset, engage the C4, same thing, volume drops drastically and no factory preset sound. 
I turn it all off again, fire it back up,...still nothing,....volume drops, no cool wacky sounds, nothing, nada, just lower volume. At this point I unplug the C4, take it off the board and dump it in my gigbag. Really disappointing, especially since I had set up my HX stomp to basically just do preamp , EQ , and a slight boost.
I pulled up another HXS patch and played the night without the C4. Anyone have a clue as to whats going on here? Power was fine , casino stage with plenty of solid outlets. New cables, which worked fine when I tested them with my exp pedal and wireless. Using the power supply that comes stock with the C4. What gives wise ones of the C4 world? I love this pedal, but I definitely have a sour taste in my mouth after tonights mess. Help please?!?!?!

I have a question on using the fx loop on the C4. I'm thinking no, but just in case..
Say I have a distortion pedal in the FX loop. Is it possible to use the C4 this way without using up an additional voice?

Are you using the latest version of the mobile app? As well as the latest firmware update for the C4? As for the lack of access to presets, it could’ve been that you were in an area with bad reception for mobile/WiFi data, hence the continuous spinning circle. Anyone tweak the boogie on patch and want to share it at all? IMO it's pretty far off from the sound Gordon uses. I've been trying to fine tune it but haven't yet.
Just tried it at home where I know my wifi is solid. Same thing. Deleted the app, reloaded, again, same thing,...spinning wheel, can't access library. Havent run signal through it yet, but have a feeling its going to be the same as last night. C4 is current on updates, so is the app. I'm a frustrated guy at the moment.
Bit more tidying up to do (esp with exp pedal cabling) but I've gotten the C4 & DMC-8 integrated into the board. Still need to set up MIDI communications with the Quadrant and Mercury7, though

The app is a different issue, not sure why you are experiencing it what phone and OS version are you running? As for the pedal it sounds like a factory reset is necessary.
Preset Backup
Performing a factory reset will erase all of the user presets that have been saved to the pedal. If you would like to back up the pedal's presets beforehand, connect the pedal to the Neuro Desktop Editor [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] with a mini USB cable. Once connected, the pedal will be shown in the left margin of the editor. Select any portion of the blue rectangle (shown below).
Next, from the top menu, select Device//Create Device Backup.
In the following window, give the backup file a title, and save it to a convenient location, such as the desktop. Once the factory reset has been performed, the device backup file can be loaded back onto the pedal by selecting from the top menu, Device//Load Device Backup.
Factory Reset
Perform a factory reset by holding down the right footswitch while plugging in the power supply.
