We outspend other pedal companies by probably 10 to 1 on software development, and we have been doing it for years now. It is a HUGE undertaking. It has become as big as the design of pedals themselves. And, we are soon to move from 4 platforms (iOS, Android, Windows, MAC) to 6, with the inclusion of direct USB bi-directional phone communication on both iOS and Android on the new EQ2. It is paying off. There are now 2818 Neuro presets! Over 1100 compatible with the C4.

The C4 has been one of my favorite purchases ever. I have invested in a midi setup only so that I can easily recall C4 presets live!

I have about 90 presets stored. Sometimes a new preset gets published that is so great that I go through the process of moving the order around to put the new one in a convenient spot.

I wouldn't imagine making a change like this in the editor would be easy, but wanted to comment as someone else mentioned the idea.

It makes me so happy to hear that the community presets are making the experience so nice! And, now I can see the context of the suggestion: lots of awesome presets to sort through and organize! :)

My apologies. I can see how my original comment seemed negative.

There are so many useful sounds to keep as patches! Other than the obvious synth and filter sounds, I have access to phaser, wah, bit-crush, tremolo, chorus, vibrato, vinyl crackles and more. It's almost like a multi-effect.

You were not being negative. I was being (as usual) overly sensitive. Source Audio is my baby and I am an emotional/over-protective/irrational parent!

Yes, not complaining here either; love my C4.

I'm using it along w/ an FI and a Helix Stomp, mostly on gigs calling for dialed-in sounds and high-production mixes, with large songbooks, and moving immediately from one song's last hit into the next song's first bar. (IOW, not enough time for bank/patch scrolling many patches via footswitches.)

For a while, my gig prep included moving patches on all three pedals into the upcoming gig's setlist order. That would still be ideal, and it was easy on the Helix. But for the C4 and FI, it took so much time that, for now, I've given that up and added a Disaster Area micro.ghost and iPad-based patch selection by embedding MIDI commands within SetList Maker. That works, but it's a lot of peripherals just to manage patches. I'd love to get back to a cleaner board with fewer vulnerable add-ons.

It's a little more complicated that it looks (and the wiring on the bottom is not as organized as the pedals on the top), but the short version is this.

There are 3 parallel paths selected by the three black mute switches with colored button caps:
  • "Clean" bass consisting of octave down and compression.
  • Effected bass with the C4, Channel 2 of all the other SA pedals, and compression.
  • Effected "guitar" with octave up, Channel 1 of all the non-C4 SA pedals, and compression.
The bass channels go to a bass amp. The "guitar" channel goes to a guitar amp.

I’ve spent more hours this past week and a half with my new C4 than I think I’ve ever spent with any other new piece of gear.

The community presets, for me, are priceless. That’s where I spend my time. I’m no where near ready to make my own, so I’ve been spending hours upon hours trying out different ones (still trying to find one that does that Tom Sawyer by Rush sound, if it’s possible for it to do that).

Do you mean the long held note or the riff part?

It's interesting. I defined three user groups for the C4 and tried to create a set of tools to make all three really happy:

Experts who need a deep flexible editor to create and publish sounds. Many of these folks got purple C4s!

Plug and play folks who want to easily access the work of the experts. We used this language internally: browse, play, burn. If you work at Sweetwater, you saw me demo when we did initial training.

Those in the middle who might use the Editor as a tool to learn about synth stuff one block at a time. We recognized that these groups are not static. If we did a good job, plug and play folks could learn to be experts some day.

The 1100+ presets in the C4 library and these nice comments are gratifying. Thank you!!!!
