source audio c4

@movinngruvin I'll give this a shot. I have a meatbox and another octaver on the board so was mainly planning on using the C4 for a variety of synth sounds though sure that will expand. Fuzz before the compressor could be interesting. I play in a funk/jam band so like having a lot of pedal access without tinkering with my hands for presets at times.

You probably should add some type of MIDI controller so you can have more than 6 presets available on the C4 during live use. -- With a name like GonePhishn I would hope you are in a jam band ;) Gordo is the reason I started playing bass.

Gordo was one of the first people to play the C4! :)

I’m strongly considering the C4 as a replacement for my MXR envelope and EH bass mono synth, both of which are OK but uninspiring. But then I read the whole thread and am now too tired to buy it. :)

One question that came up a couple of times was a Clavinet sound. I see a couple of Clavinet patches in the library, but haven’t been able to find any sound samples. Are they any good?

Clavinet is tricky on the C4 because the square waves sadly don’t have a pulse width control and clav is best achieved with a narrower pulse. The discussion you might have seen is my saying I had shared some clav patches for the Future Impact, which does have variable pulse width.

I love the MXR BEF. At some point soon I’ll do a side-by-side and make a C4/Spectrum patch that copies it.

Of course, been playing bass for a while before I was a Phish fan but cactus has been a big influence. Once I get a little more used to the pedal I'll probably buy one of those little micro controllers for the board.

@fivestringgecko ? @Quatschmacher ?
I don’t know the track, but a quick search yielded this:

Source Audio Neuro Effect
SA248 Uprising

Source Audio Home Page

EDIT - try this:
Neuro Community by Source Audio

@rsmith601 it seems that pasting the link copied from the neuro app didn’t work, it just linked to the SA homepage. Probably might need someone to take a look.

Ordinarily I’d probably have a crack at the sound but I’ve been recalled to work as of today and had less than two hours’ sleep so might struggle today.

Like Christophe C I tried the Uprising preset that’s for the Spectrum on my new C4. It doesn’t have much drive. I to tried adjusting different levels in the preset. Hoo Boy this one is going to take some time to figure out. I need to find the Synth for dummies manual.
I really like some of the demos I ve heard on the C4 but feel like it’s gonna take me a year to figure out how to be able to make my own .
I have a huge appreciation for those who know how to make the presets.
I can just about get by with the Hysteria preset that I found on the Neuro Community. Anyway, Thank you to everyone that are contributing all these great presets.

What do you folks use for the expression pedal? I've never owned an AS product and I'm not sure if there's anything to watch for when directly going from a third-party expression pedal to C4 (besides the tip/ring switching necessary, I'd assume your standard polarity switch that some expression pedals have would solve that without the need for converters). My use of expression pedals is extremely situational, so if possible I'll grab a $20-$30 cheapo and call it a day.
