Source Audio EQ2

Is anyone using their EQ 2 as a Pre efx chain and post efx chain EQ ? I'm thinking about having my room resonance adjustment as Pre and then circling back and using the secon channel as post. For me post is where I would restore body lost elsewhere in the efx chain.

Since I'm using the noise gate (and the noise gate is on either both channels or not on at all) I am not doing this.

I wanted to be able to do this though

OK this is odd... My EQ2 stopped passin audio when engaged. The tuner works fine and if I disengage the pedal I get audio. Soon as I engage, no audio ... Probably something I did but I'll be darned if I can figure it out.

This happens with every preset?

stranger yet. I did an actual gig tonight. After tuning it was passing audio and engaged. Used it on and off for all of a 2.5 hour set. Some form of pilot error apparently...

@Gibs210 asked Jesse and its confirmed. LPF is in there. It is implemented and just needs to be rolled out in the next software update. @Wretched Banana FYI

Is the adjustability on the Low Pass/High pass such that one might be able to use the split function and apply effects to half or both splits as some of us do with crossover pedals?

We need to ask @Gibs210 - Jesse and I are no longer down the hall from each other....

I was doing something similar although slightly crude with the AS, but it seems like it would be possible, but then the HPF on the EQ2 seems to miss that mark a bit if it's highest point is still 80hz.

Of course that leaves out the ability to re-combine the signals into a singular path, but that could be done down the line with any pedal with two inputs that can sum.

Is there any way to have an input/output jack configurable matrix within the EQ pedal using the editor? So perhaps I could map it so that one input jack can feed the left and right EQ sections simultainously, then I can apply all the parametrics I want to one EQ and apply all the regular band EQ's I want to the other side, then sum the signal to one output jack?

Can you explain how you would use this? I’m not sure how the current split mode doesn’t already allow for this.

Well, I don't have the pedal yet. It will arrive at my house this Thursday. Most of the YouTube videos about this pedal are just guys playing a guitar through it turning the knob, not using the editor, so I don't know the full capabilities of the editor just yet. In short, I want to connect my bass to it directly and apply all the functions of one of the EQ's inside to a frequency of 200hz and down (parametrics only) and the other EQ (regular 10 band, no parametrics) in the pedal to the 300hz and up range (the 200hz and 300hz are starting points for the separation of the main input, but you get the idea, a split) and then sum those 2 and have it exit as one mono signal right into my amp. Is it able to do this already and I dont know about it?

Download the editor and use it in offline mode.
That way you get a pretty good picture of possibilities and limitations of the pedal.

I got it working in offline mode now with the correct version. Yes, this is going to work just fine with what I want to do. Routing = Mono in, stereo out split, one side a complete parametric and the other side a regular 10 band. I just need to re-combine the two individual outputs back into one signal. Look at all the freedom one has in this editor, you can re-assign the frequency bands to whatever you want and then adjust the Q width. It is certainly a beautiful, open design with regards to your own frequency assignments per slider.

If your running mono in/out and enable split mode you should be fine. No need to recombine, the pedal does this itself in auto detect mode, or you can pro steam the routing in the editor.

I am EXTREMELY impressed with the versatility of this EQ pedal. So, having opened the editor and looking at the other pedals it can control, and as one thing leads to another, I took interest in that Aftershock Bass distortion pedal. Now, I am not a big fan of distortion on my bass guitar, but I AM a big fan of GUI's and how they manipulate brilliant technology, so I am just going to have to buy that bass distortion pedal, and just see if I can 'accomplish' the exact replication (or damn close to it) of the Darkglass Microtubes X pedal thing/sound with the high side output of my EQ pedal. Then maybe play one song on my bass with it...as if no one hasn't done this already..

The high pass filter is going to be extended to 250hz the low pass will be configured from 20hz to 20khz. So yes you could split the channels and have one for low and one for high.
