And the size factor (here I'm assuming that ALL the new pedals have the same brain as SB2 pedals, at least based on what was said for the chorus). Someone earlier told me that even the SB2 can fit nicely in a rack, but if SA is really doing the pedalboard with the power of a MIDI-controlled rack thing (or a modular multi-FX), there's really no need for that many knobs on the pedalboard itself, just the "brains" and a MIDI controller, and the ability to edit your settings from phone or something. If so why not do just one pedal like istomp from digitech?
Is it mean I can buy chorus and turn into ie. ofd?
Idea is great, but we have allready a soundblox with all those options and option to plug into hub, so i dont get those pedals, unless they have some extra options or very low price (soundblox price is very good)
How do you use them together? I've mainly been using the Manta for filters after OFD/MWBD, and one scenes where I need the manta to get this really synthy buzzing-chainsaw-y gated fuzz, that's all.And the way the Manta and OFD can work together is pretty great as well.
Same for me. I used to think I'd need a SA octaver to take the place of my Octron, but now I'm not sure. I thought I'd really miss the octave down setting on that one, but honestly I've kicked that off my board and been using just the multiwave's multi band octaver.I wonder if I really need a synth at this point!
The funny thing is that although I've programmed a lot of sounds, I end up not using a lot of them. I seem to stick to a few particular sounds because I know exactly how they react to my playing.I've got several sounds programmed already, but I can't wait to do more.
Well guys, I have a confession that morphs into a testimonial. There have been times when I probably liked the idea behind Source Audio more than the products themselves. I misfired on/wasn't compatible with at least one SA product (Dual Expression Pedal). I had a big learning curve with the HH3. I like my Manta, but I haven't used it that much. It's just kind of been there.
Instead of giving up, though, I doubled down. I figured that a Hub might make things better. I've wanted a fuzz but couldn't decide on what flavor; so I decided I would try an OFD. When I got the Hub and OFD, I played around with them for a little bit. I wasn't totally sure what to think.
But then, something just clicked in the last 2-3 times I've played with them. I think I needed to plow through the learning curve. And MAN. I am finally seeing these pedals unleashed. It's BEAUTIFUL. So many great sounds. And the way the Manta and OFD can work together is pretty great as well. I wonder if I really need a synth at this point! TL;DR stick with the SB2s, they're worth it.
Interesting! I need to pick up some tips and ideas from you guys. I've only been using the OFD as an always-on shaper. Actually, I haven't really tried changing EQ *before* a certain effect, do you have any examples where the effect needs a certain EQ to make it work? I've been doing it the other way round, from a particular clean tone, I tweak the effect to work with that tone. The OFD and manta definitely work well together. Yes the Manta can filter the OFD sounds, but there's more available. Like I use a lot of hi cut settings in the OFD to make the manta filters cleaner. I'll use the OFD a lot as a preamp / EQ for a lot of settings that need a certain sound out in before they work right.
The manta is also a good post effects volume adjuster, phaser, and all kinds of different shaping.
Almost the same here. It took a while to get through the learning curve. But now it's really easy to figure out a setting when I hear something I want to mimic.

Man, I really rely on Source Audio stuff! Honestly, it's not even the innovation, it's the tone. While I do go down the rabbit hole (mostly for fun), the core sounds and basic programmability are what make my PEQ, Bass OFD and Dimension Reverb cornerstones of my live and studio sound. I also find regular use for the HUB and Dual Expression, but they are more 'icing' while I use the other stuff to actually pay the mortgage.
Great sounding equipment at entirely reasonable and competitive prices. Great after sale support & communication. Those are the keys for me. All this extra program depth is just gravy (but like all gravies: welcome!).... ;-)
Sounds GR8T!I'd like to become a Sorcerer, can I have a number? - I have an OFD, MBD, Manta, Dimension, HUB and Dual Expression. Got all the gear together for my cover band board. I should be and am in the process of programing every sound I need - especially since the band leader wants the songs "as close to the recording as possible".
I am looking forward to the 2015 SA offerings, especially the Midi control pedal (I am using a MIDI mouse right now).

Here it is!
Considering that the multifunction is just a TRRS cable, I'd really like to see the app work with the Hub that way too.Wait, so the Neuro editor for iOS/Android works with a TRRS cable into the phone's headphone jack? Dang, that's clever.
