Note however you cannot hook up a USB cable to 2 computers and transfer data between them. There's a protocol set that prevents that, but with a USB Host/USB On The Go cable, you can bridge that gap and use your phone as the host (Think of your phone as the Computer now, you can connect thumb drives and accessories to your phone and it can interact/control them).

Right, that's what I don't get. My phone becomes the "computer" and the Hub would be the external device...the same way I plug my Hub into my laptop.

Sorry there was an add-on to that (just woke up haha). Using an OTG cable it's absolutely possible to interface with the Hub, just depends on whether that's something SA wants to program (porting the desktop app to android seems like it would be straightforward, iOS is a different story). I think it would be awesome to be able to swap around presets on the hub using my phone or tweak a thing or two, as dialling in a big preset away from a computer involves a lot of sometimes clunky testing involving hitting the save button a ton of times.

We will investigate. Android only is not good. I did not know you could make an android phone a USB host. That is interesting.

It's quite cool, I use it to watch movies on my tablet using a thumb drive if I'm on a long flight, I can control my DSLR using DSLR Remote, bunch of cool things.

Something similar *might* be able to be explored on iOS using the Camera Connection Kit

So, @rsmith601 , here is a scenario I have been thinking about:

1- I go out and buy this new SourceAudio product that is similar to a Neunaber Slate pedal. Let's call it an SA Blank. Actually, I buy 4 or 5 of them.
2- The SA Blank costs about 2-3 times the price of an SB2 pedal. I know it's expensive, but it will be worth it.
3- The SA Blank has a lot more memory on board than a standard SB2, possibly more power, and definitely a slightly different interface, basically, it looks like the SB2 but with maybe 1-2 more knobs and an LCD screen
4- The cool thing about the SA Blank is that each one comes with all the SB2 algorithms (that and the additional hardware is why it costs more, maybe it comes with a few algorithms and you have to buy more).
5- So, I put these SA Blanks at these 4-5 spots on my board(s).
6- The COOL thing about the SA Blanks is that, using the hub, I can create scenes where each "Blank" can have whatever I could have on any of the SB2s. The even COOLER thing is that now, because any Blank can have any SB2 algo, I can basically rearrange the order of my favourite OFD, Manta, Orbital, Dimension, Delay, Multiwave settings.
7- The SA Blanks basically let me rearrange my pedalboard however I want with my trusty Solemate Controller and the Hub.

So, does that sound like fun or mildly interesting?

(P.S.: This is not an original thought, it's just a Source Audio equivalent of an H9 Max, maybe easier to use and cheaper.)

Well, we actually had such a product in the almost production phase a year ago. It was called Flexbox. Believe it or not, this product was why we started SA. The problem with this is software complexity and knob assignment. You will note that the One series does this sort of thing in a simple and easy to use manner. Also, as we build out the Neuro ecosystem, we can get closer and closer to the blank approach. Flexbox was too early. We just needed to create the stepping stones.

Right, I have less first-hand experience with iOS on this front but I thought the Camera Connection Kit was to put iOS devices in USB host mode. As I said, I do it all the time with Android (tablet + phone).

Instead of ios or android device, just use a windows tablet with usb. I have a usb hub on my board connecting the hub, pitchfactor and h9 to my tablet, and have the hub manager and h9 control apps open together, works great.

Great idea! All I need to interface with my pedals is a new tablet! Forget the ones that 95% of the tablet/phone market have!

I use my Lenovo Lynx. Micro USB out of the Lynx with an adapter to standard USB F-male. Then just run the cable to the hub! I also run my bands light show off of it. Into a Enntec box, and DMX out. I use Q-Light controller. "Free" download! All scenes, chase, and laser sequences triggered by the touch of a finger. And yes running Win 8.1

I've used the camera connection kit to send/receive MIDI with the iPad acting as a host device. But I've been having a lot of problems getting MIDI to be stable on the iPad, it's very iffy - it keeps on not detecting the device.

As for phone with MIDI commander, I haven't had time to get an OTG converter, but I happened to have a female-female USB plug and I tried just connecting a USB mini cable (for my Sony Xperia Z2) and a USB micro (for the Hub)... well that didn't work, as expected. Looks like I actually need a legit OTG plug.

I get it, W8 tablets don't have nearly the market penetration of ios or android. Heck, I have an iphone and android tablet and the wife has an iphone and ipad, so I get the convenience.

I'm just saying there already is a solution out there, without needing any special development from SA or any special devices or dongles for the ipad/iphone...

I get it, W8 tablets don't have nearly the market penetration of ios or android. Heck, I have an iphone and android tablet and the wife has an iphone and ipad, so I get the convenience.

I'm just saying there already is a solution out there, without needing any special development from SA or any special devices or dongles for the ipad/iphone...

The kicker is I purchased the Lenovo pad off Craigslist for $125.00 in like new condition. Quad core, very efficient little tab.

Soooo....this happened this morning

I can see the snap ring and spring inside but I can't tell if part of the ring is sheared or not. The foot switch button appears fine. Has anyone ever had this happen and is it an easy fix? I bought it used btw.

Apple's no USB on ipad is really annoying!

You can make USB host or device accessories for iPad, but you have to be a part of Apple's MFi (Made For iPod/Phone/Pad) program. I've been helping to shepherd a client through this process recently, in fact. It does add fairly high levels of documentation and technical requirements to your design efforts, but it seems well within the capabilities and resources of a company like SA based on what you've been able to produce so far. PM me if you would like to discuss it further.

While it is true that there is no real USB port and that you cannot install drivers, most musicians already have the camera connection kit to use with other hardware so I do not think the USB connection is the issue.
If the hub is class complient than no driver is needed for iOS

I am itching for the delay now, and the sneak peeks at all the new gadgets is only making it worse!

I have the Guitar OFD now to go with the Orbital Modulator and Dimension Reverb. I have to say, the range of quality noises I can get out of the OFD with my Tele is fantastic: fiddling with the Voice and Tone controls lets you get exactly what noise you want at whatever volume or pickup you're using.

Oh and while I'm being effusive: I dig the new layout for pedals on your website. It's like choosing chocolates!

Yesterday I was recreating my MWBDP presets on the MWBD SB2 and got the impression that the Mix knobs do not work exactly the same.
I could be wrong but it seems that on the Pro the knobs range from total cut to 0 at 12o'c to boost while in the SB2 it ranges from full cut to full signal. Can someone confirm or contradicts this?

Also, I have a question regarding the HUB. I have the HUB connected to the PC and select scene 1 and my pedals go to scene 1, then I change stuf on the pedal, press scan, long press save and it saves to scene 0. Do I have to send a MIDI PC message with PC=1 to the HUB so that it starts saving to scene 1?
