I've some questions for the Source Audio guys and whoever already has the Aftershock:
1) Is there any way to use the mobile editing functions together with using both input/outputs? (i.e. without having to unplug)
I'm having this in mind, could you tell me if this might work:
- I make a TRS mixer box. It has two TRS inputs and one TRS output. The output signal is a direct blend of the two input signals. One input signal will be from my other pedals, the other input signal will be from my mobile device.
- Signal chain is bass -> Aftershock input 1 -> [Aftershock channel 1 set to either clean, distortion or fuzz with noise gate] -> Aftershock output 1 -> External pedals -> Input A of mixer box -> Aftershock input 2 -> [Aftershock channel 2 set to clean with EQ and noise gate] -> Aftershock output 2 -> Amp
(note that I'm using output 1 -> input 2 as my 'effects loop' instead of output 2 -> input 2 because based on the manual, if I use the pre/post effects loop option, I only get one engine. However, I don't need to change the order of the effects, if I do, I can always just set channel 1 clean and channel 2 distortion or vice-versa. What I want to do is to use channel 1 as my 'heavy distortions/fuzz', send it into my B7K for tone shaping and convenient EQ knobs, and then send that back into channel 2 for a much-needed noise gate and 30hz low cut shelving filter)
What I'm hoping this will do is to allow me to simultaneously send audio signals as well as Neuro commands to the Aftershock (e.g. so I can hear in real-time what my tweaks are doing and so I don't have to keep unplugging). My only concern is whether the Aftershock will automatically detect that it is a TRS or TS, and turn the control mode on and off accordingly, but I doubt so because page 31 shows a daisy chain that can send both audio and neuro commands.
In fact, I'd take this one step further: @rsmith601 could I ask if the Neuro app only sends Neuro commands on the ring channel of the TRS? I'm making this hypothesis simply because it would make more sense that way. If so, I would make a TRS mixer box that routs audio from my effects loop to the sleeve of input 2, and neuro from my phone to the ring of input 2.

2) How would I use the Neuro app together with the Hub? I think I saw some discussion on that earlier but I'm not 100% sure and I'd like to confirm if this works:
- At home, I save my various settings to the hub and recall them using MIDI messages. I will also save the settings to my Neuro app.
- At rehearsals, I'll leave my phone plugged in (if what I'm asking in question 1 can work). As and when I need to change a parameter, I will do the following steps:
(i) use hub+MIDI to load up the right preset
(ii) simultaneously load the same preset on neuro app
(iii) perform the appropriate tweaks from phone, send all, save settings on neuro app
(iv) press and hold on the hub to save the new settings
At the moment, there is no way to use the Neuro app directly with the Hub, right?

3) Also, regarding the manual ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed]):
- on Page 11, the manual says you have 3 possible presets, you can save one preset in each of the 3 switch positions.
- However, on Page 27, it says that you have 3 burn slots and one preset slot?
Am I misinterpreting this somehow? I know I asked about this quite a while back and at that time, the official Source Audio guys said that there's 3 burn slots (saves the 'hidden' settings, but knobs still work) and 1 preset (only on/off to get the exact same sound every time?). But the description on page 11 makes it sound like you can have 3 burn slots, and 1 preset slot for each switch position.
