Nah no fowl! I didn't get that vibe from you at all. Critical thinking is critical after all!Absolutely. A lot depends on individual preferences and use cases and existing gear and board space and budget and so on. And that's before you even get to the sounds.
I feel like I'm coming across as being anti-C4 or giving the impression that I prefer the SY300. Just to be clear, that isn't the case. I own a C4 and not an SY300, and I love it. But it isn't perfect and it doesn't beat the SY300 in every way possible. The C4 is, in my opinion, overall, subjectively, the better pedal. But there are buts...
I prefer the C4 overall, but the ability to program a preset straight from the pedal was great. but...the list of effects on the SY300 is better. but...I think SY300 was better at light and airy pad patches. Etc.
I need to go and dig in more and rebuild some of my old favorites as best I can. I had 3 I used a lot. A light, airy octave up reverb and light delay pad; a wubbly filtered square wave; a fake power chord. If I can create (or find) a patch for each of those, I'll be suitably happy. I'm sure those sounds are in there somewhere!

@rsmith601 could the app be updated to set the Level to 127 when you Enable a voice?
Starting it at 0 annoys me. Not quite so much now that I figured out you can click on the number to enter the value straight in instead of fiddling with the slider, but still.

I am looking at Android at the moment, and all you need to do it tap in the middle of the slider, and the level will jump to wherever you need it. I assume iOS is the same? (actually, I just looked at iOS, and you do need to slide it or enter the value). Sliding does not seem to take very long.
With all of this said, I am in favor or adding in a voice at a low level. It can be so easy for output levels to get out of hand with the C4, and I kind of like the idea that one must intentionally go louder. Hope this makes sense. I am not sure there is one best way to do this for everyone.

This is the benefit of improving the app over many generations. Lots of small enhancements over time.

I suspect we will do something to show non-technical users how to:
- BROWSE
- BURN
- PLAY
This pedal opens the door for casual folks to have a simple ever-changing (or not) synth pedal THAT REFELECTS THEIR PARTICULAR TASTE IN SYNTH SOUNDS. It is not complicated, and we have made the tools easy for almost anyone who can use a smartphone to do this.
As far as building sounds using the C4 editor and doing an editor around that? Not sure. We worked really hard to create an intuitive Desktop Editor and detailed manual. I am sure someone will do it at some point.
Ok, I haven’t followed this thread that close the last couple months up to the C4 release (obviously. Sorry), but is there an editor on PC/Mac? Or is it just the app? For now...

There are already 174 community presets for the C4. Many have sound clips. So easy to access them with the pedal with either a Mac, PC, iPhone, or Android. Here is a sort on the Neuro database of C4 presets:

Interesting may have to look deeper into this somehow, videos can be sucky as apart from Nathan’s haven’t liked many others.. I’m not into funk and more metal synth so looking for something more ballsy such as sounds you could cook from the microbrute or something... going more than 2 oscillators / voices always did my head in so I think I would suck at deep editing (plus don’t have time for it) but basically looking at pads /simple thick saw waves or other “brutal” type sounds... I am guessing c4 would be able to do this with all the extreme filter / distortion options too?
@rsmith601 it would be very helpful to have a catalog of questions asked and answered here and TGP categorized & searchable as more users come on board, don't know if that is something y'all are working on yet or not.
You guys rule, thanks!! I'll be deep diving this weekend as long as the C4 gets to me by Sat which is the day Zzounds said it would. We'll see if USPS has other plans or not. Can't wait to start digging into this thing! I love this stuff
