Hey, are you powering your HX with the USB?? How? Are you just running that USB to a power inlet and then plugged in somewhere??
I'm still trying to figure out how to run my HX with the C4. I sorta messed it with last night but as soon as I hit the control assign on the HX and all those lighting bolts came up, I was like, I'm way too tired to be messing with this stuff right now! haha
I also got a midi cable but the right angles go totally the wrong ways. I'll have to end up getting the expensive one you're using my One Control. Seems like the best bet.
No, HX can't be powered over USB. HX is powered with the Line 6 power supply, which is mounted underneath. Everything else is powered by a Strymon Zuma. The USB cable you see is going from the HX to a USB port on the rear of the board for quick connection to my computer when I want to use the Line 6 desktop editor.
If I get a moment today or tomorrow, I'll snap a pic of what the programmed HX patch looks like for controlling the C4. It's really more straightforward than it might appear at first glance, I promise.
What kind of Midi cable are you using? Most of the Right angle ones, allow you to change the direcction of the plug.

That's awesome! I always wanted to affix some outlets like that my board for ins and outs. Hopefully someday.
That would be great of you, thanks man. I know it's not rocket science. But's it's midi. And my mind wants to over complicate it all the time.
I just ord a RockBoard one. It's not very long but I think when I mount my HUB, it's going to be directly above my HX. So it won't need much length.
I had ord one on Amazon the day before last and its right angled but the way the pins are set in the jacks, it pretty much defeats the purpose of them being right angled. When I plug it in, it faces perpendicular to whatever I plug into it, not parallel.
Yeah, I have the OneControl MIDI cables. They're just ok. FYI for anyone interested, they don't carry power on the two outer pins (1 & 3). Not important for the Hub or HX, but some devices get power over MIDI that way.
I want to order one of those new FlaX Rockboard MIDI cables to patch to the MIDI ports on the back of the board too. The OneControl connectors don't fit thru the slats of my board, but I think the FlaX ones will.
RockBoard makes some really neat stuff. I was planning on getting one of those patch bays but my board is self made and that wouldn't really work great with my board. I'll probably get one when I move on to say a pedal train or, a RockBoard.
I have a Rockboard! That's what you see in the pic above. It's a bit on the heavy side compared to other boards I've used, most recently Temple boards. But the heft is worth the extra rigidity and ruggedness IMO.
What is yours called exactly? Trying to see what size I'd go with if I went that way.

Question to the community: What is this pedal capable of in terms of octave sounds? I guess it won't replace an OC2/Subterranea/etc. type of flavor?

There are several OC-2 sounds already in the community Cloud presets, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised
I'm also trying to decide if it will replace my SubT... I kinda want to leave it on the board just because but is it redundant?
I haven't owned a SubT in years, but if my memory serves me, the C4 will do any sound it can do and much more.
Now I'm really curious.
I guess it will probably still be more gnarly and glitchy than the C4, but who knows? I guess I have no other choice but to test it. Same goes for my V2 Proton. I don't use octaves and filters that often so maybe the C4 will be a good substitute with further benefits.

Honestly @moishelichtfuss it will most likely do anything you want it too. I've burned in a few of the OC2 presets from some community members and they are very close to my real OC2. And if they aren't close enough for you, once you get comfy with the editor, you can just go on and tweak off of what that preset already provided. It gets damn close to sounding exactly like an OC2.
I also had a SubT years ago. I ended up not getting along with it very well. But if memory serves me right too, @Chace90 is dead on in saying that the C4 can and mostly will get you in that same realm and go much further beyond that with added control over perimeters. This is all a matter of learning the editor good and knowing how to set things. I still have to spend a lot of time with the editor. Which I'll be doing this weekend. But it goes deep and there are controls over just about anything you could need, want or think of. It's awesome. I took my Meatbox off the board and that's where my C4 now lives. It can't do exactly what the Meatbox can do, that I've heard yet, but it can do that really super sub bass octave thing which will serve almost the same purpose I think. You should even be able to mess with the glitch factor on the C4 with gates and all the different waves you can mess with.
When it comes down to it, once you learn the editor and get better and dialing sounds in, there's really no limits. Now that's not to say that it can do ANYTHING. It won't replace your fav Moog synth or the like. But it comes damn close in a lot of cases and will end up being a lot more easier to transport and a lot more inexpensive on the wallet. The FI may end up beating it on some levels. I've never played one but I know that's a really good synth pedal. But it comes close on a lot of categories that's for sure. And the FI seems to be the one to beat so to speak in the game of inexpensive, portable synths for bass players.
I think my hesitation to take off the SubT is just because I've gotten so accustomed to always having my pedal combo that adds up to synth tones and need to get in the mindset that now I have them all in one essentially.
I'll wait until the Aftershock arrives and see how everybody works together. Might keep the SubT on my board just so I can have the extra option available...
