I think my hesitation to take off the SubT is just because I've gotten so accustomed to always having my pedal combo that adds up to synth tones and need to get in the mindset that now I have them all in one essentially.

I'll wait until the Aftershock arrives and see how everybody works together. Might keep the SubT on my board just so I can have the extra option available...

For sure! I'm not taking my Octabvre off my board, even if the C4 could conceivably do most of what it does. I just think that digital octave tracking doesn't feel the same as analog. I'm just treating them as different tools.

I could conceivably see using a C4 as a substitute for an analog octave pedal on a small board build for me...

Honestly @moishelichtfuss it will most likely do anything you want it too. I've burned in a few of the OC2 presets from some community members and they are very close to my real OC2. And if they aren't close enough for you, once you get comfy with the editor, you can just go on and tweak off of what that preset already provided. It gets damn close to sounding exactly like an OC2.

I also had a SubT years ago. I ended up not getting along with it very well. But if memory serves me right too, @Chace90 is dead on in saying that the C4 can and mostly will get you in that same realm and go much further beyond that with added control over perimeters. This is all a matter of learning the editor good and knowing how to set things. I still have to spend a lot of time with the editor. Which I'll be doing this weekend. But it goes deep and there are controls over just about anything you could need, want or think of. It's awesome. I took my Meatbox off the board and that's where my C4 now lives. It can't do exactly what the Meatbox can do, that I've heard yet, but it can do that really super sub bass octave thing which will serve almost the same purpose I think. You should even be able to mess with the glitch factor on the C4 with gates and all the different waves you can mess with.

When it comes down to it, once you learn the editor and get better and dialing sounds in, there's really no limits. Now that's not to say that it can do ANYTHING. It won't replace your fav Moog synth or the like. But it comes damn close in a lot of cases and will end up being a lot more easier to transport and a lot more inexpensive on the wallet. The FI may end up beating it on some levels. I've never played one but I know that's a really good synth pedal. But it comes close on a lot of categories that's for sure. And the FI seems to be the one to beat so to speak in the game of inexpensive, portable synths for bass players.

Well, well…if anything, it sounds like a worthwhile learning experience. Pretty stoked by now.

Anyways, I trust in SA…I had the first Envelope filters, the Multiwave distortion and the Dimension reverb back in the day and spent some time with the Nemesis and the Aftershock (which was awesome, but just a slight bit too much for me), so I know they're doing great work.

Yes, I'm all Nano+ these days, since I couldn't really justify always carrying around so much stuff I might using in one song. So it's all about space and economy.

I still have the MWBDP and BEFPro and Dimension Reverb on my board. Nemesis and Ventris are high on my wish list, but not on a need list. All this talk of the Aftershock makes me want to avoid watching a video of it. I was happy to find that at least one of the crazy multiwave distortion sounds from the MWBDP I tried with the C4 did not seem to get treated as polyphonic notes, and tracked well. I was using headphones, and could usually easily tell when a bit of fret buzz or a ringing string caused the C4 to freak out, but was pleasantly surprised that it didn't react poorly to the MWBDP. Same for the clean distortion, and the octave on the Markbass SuperSynth. It paired really well I thought with the BEFPro, adding extra funky filtering. Gonna have to figure out some alternate pathways for reverb, though. That didn't make the C4 sing as much as I thought. This should serve as a way to investigate signal path changes, as well as deeper dives into some of the settings of the other pedals while trying to learn the C4. And I haven't even hooked up the SuperEgo+ up to the board... Hope everyone enjoys their journeys of discovery this weekend. And contrary to that post above, please post more presets to fiddle about with!

What was it by chance? I updated to 1.11 2 days ago and things got weird before I rebooted both the C4 and the hub. No sound/no preset change when selecting cloud presets/ wrong sounds loading. Figured it was because I had the hub on and powered when I did the 10 second reboot after upgrading.

I'm on the desktop site, looking through presets and wondering if there's an option to filter by pedal - sorting by date basically works since the C4 is newest but it would be nice to sort by popularity and just see that unit. I know the app can do it, am I just missing how to do it on my computer?

It's in the search filter settings on the desktop app. Make sure you're clicking on all the drop downs.

You can sort and search many ways. I made sure all this was in there about a year ago.

Playing around with the editor makes me realize I know next to nothing about synthesizers. It's definitely going to take me a while to get a grasp on functionality.
If you would be so kind, I would love to have that preset to work off for my show next weekend. Even if you don't want to share your secret sauce, if you can hint at what you did that would be great.

I need all the help I can find in understanding how to engineer a tone on this bad boy. Thanks in advance!

Hey all. No affiliation with this YouTuber. A lot of the vocabulary he runs through will help you understand what's going on in the C4 (this is how you know SA knew what they were doing here)
It's not exactly a C4 tutorial but I find most of the ideas in the video translate and apply to the pedal .

Is your Firmware updated? @rsmith601 had mentioned updating recently.

To everyone,
I just had to redownload the Neuro App installer from sourceaudio.net to update the Firmware on my C4 to 1.12. Hope this helps anyone.
The process isn't so straight forward since if your Neuro App is not up to date it will tell you your C4's firmware is "Up to date" even if it's at 1.09.
After downloading the installer and updating the Neuro App manually ,you'll see the little download button that usually pops up under the C4's icon is now glowing Yellow. Click it and it'll update the C4 for you.
