Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

Ok I'm just getting started so please bear with me here. My Neuro desktop editor is updated (1.12) and open with the C4 hooked up, but when I try and DL a preset from the Neuro community page this message comes up

If I try and choose Neuro Desktop to be the default, it's grayed out, so I can't. Am I missing something here?

EDIT: C4 updated to 1.12, desktop editor updated to 0.6.53

That's weird- are you downloading the presets via safari or chrome from the neuro community webpage? I've always just browsed via the 'cloud' section directly in the Neuro app and never seen that error on my Mac.
Perhaps you would need to click 'import' on the neuro page then navigate to the downloaded file as opposed to double clicking the file in Finder.
And OS X should handle zip files without a 3rd party app. .rar files and some archive compression types are a different story. I have StuffIt Expander for those.

On a related note- does SA have the ability for the Neuro desktop app to check for updates and self update? So far I've had to manually grab it off the website and re-install every version. That's not a huge deal having to do that but an in place update would be best for the customer experience. Or if that's not doable then just a self check upon opening the app with a dialog box (and a hyperlink to the site lol) to manually download the new version.

There are people on 1.11 that might not check this thread and not know of the bug and the need to update. Self check would clean that up.

Edit: @Adamixoye just ran into an amazing quote you said in 2017 about @nnavarro 's hair in the Aftershock thread... sorry had to make it my signature. I noticed that months ago when I first got SA fever and went though all their YouTube videos... #teamliquid

I have Neuro Desktop 0.6.52 and fw1.11 and it does not show an update available. I have restarted my PC and visited the SA website. I don't seem to be having any issues at the moment.

It was really weird. I check it around 8 o'clock last night and i was still only able to get the 5_52 update. But then I checked later and 6_63 was there. It was weird. I did close my browser and restarted my computer. Don't know if that had anything to do with anything though. But once I downloaded the 6_62, everything seemed fine. Updated the C4 to 1.12 and I'm current for now.

Not so much a tutorial, but here's a good write up on the science of envelope filters:
The Technology of Auto-Wahs / Envelope-Controlled Filters

And here is a visual representation of the different Manta filter types (and these are used in the C4/Spectrum also). Good reference for what all the notch/Rez/Pass stuff is:

I hit the DL button next to each preset on the neuro webpage using Chrome. I haven't tried the cloud button on the editor bit will do tomorrow. Thanks

I might have to wait for the Spectrum to come out but, in the mean time, anybody have tips or links to tutorials about dialing in common envelope tones?

I uploaded some basic envelope presets to the community page user name Serun. Neuro Community by Source Audio
If you load these onto your c4, you can create many variations using the filter settings in the editor.

So I just need the lightning to 3.5 jacked up iPhone adapter?
Correct.

BTW I am in in a car this week with no Bluetooth, but has AUX. My Android with no headphone jack is like the most dumb thing ever. Why are they doing this? Headphone jacks are handy and universal.

On the odd occasion the rental car that's given me doesn't have a USB connector, I make them switch me to a different vehicle. I won't drive one without it, very important for me when on traveling for work.

Ok, so I'm sure SA is always working on this and I'm sure it'll be remedied eventually. But trying to use the C4 with the HUB, editor and any other One Series pedals, it's like the editor doesn't know what to do. It's very "whoa what just happened?!". If I just plug my C4 into the editor all by itself, pretty much fine. If I add anything else to the equation at that point, it goes haywire pretty quick.
