Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

Yes, @Chace90 , please do!
Playing around with the editor makes me realize I know next to nothing about synthesizers. It's definitely going to take me a while to get a grasp on functionality.
If you would be so kind, I would love to have that preset to work off for my show next weekend. Even if you don't want to share your secret sauce, if you can hint at what you did that would be great.

I need all the help I can find in understanding how to engineer a tone on this bad boy. Thanks in advance!

Ok, I posted it to the community. Username: chace90

I also published my first attempts for the bass synth sounds for "Take On Me" and "Don't You Want Me Baby!"

@Chace90 thanks for posting those presets!
@Robertron thanks for posting the synth fundamentals video. It was really informative!

Is your Firmware updated? @rsmith601 had mentioned updating recently.

To everyone,
I just had to redownload the Neuro App installer from sourceaudio.net to update the Firmware on my C4 to 1.12. Hope this helps anyone.
The process isn't so straight forward since if your Neuro App is not up to date it will tell you your C4's firmware is "Up to date" even if it's at 1.09.
After downloading the installer and updating the Neuro App manually ,you'll see the little download button that usually pops up under the C4's icon is now glowing Yellow. Click it and it'll update the C4 for you.

Thanks for this!! I knew that wasn't right. I kept trying to update my editor and it kept telling me it was current but at like 1.14 or something like that. It was last week sometime. I'll probably go home, completely erase everything and start over from scratch again. May be easier for me.

You actually don't have to start over! All of my presets in Neuro and on the C4 are in place after updating.

Yes, using the latest version (1.12). I was using 1.11 a bit prior to seeing that there was an issue with that version.

Currently on 1.12 my presets won't stick to the pedal correctly when I unplug from the computer (I was using the desktop not app)

Some would stick, some would be random sounds I didn't assign?

Did you use it with dirt? If so what kinds and how was it?

Paired with the Aftershock it sounds great. I'm using a 6-stage phaser – factory preset slowed down and tweaked a bit – as my main phase sound. Paired with the Muff sound it's especially good if you like that "whoosh" sound. The only sound I can't quite dial in is that vintage Small Stone vibe, but I dig its versatility.

Well I finally got around to figuring out the nuero desktop/phone apps and setting up my new C4 on my board. This pedal is amazing. I'm not a synth programmer so ended up trying out all of the user presets in the community and selecting 5, all of which are 80's bass synth oriented. (I'm in a funk cover band.) Then I saved them over the factory presets (except the EDM Swell). I think my go to for tonight's gig is going to be either the Deep Source Kitaro Bass or the Mobius Ring World. The big question was whether or not the C4 would unseat my Future Impact. Well...it has. At least for now. And that says a lot. The FI is a great pedal with a lot to offer. Well done Source Audio!

Ok I'm just getting started so please bear with me here. My Neuro desktop editor is updated (1.12) and open with the C4 hooked up, but when I try and DL a preset from the Neuro community page this message comes up

If I try and choose Neuro Desktop to be the default, it's grayed out, so I can't. Am I missing something here?

EDIT: C4 updated to 1.12, desktop editor updated to 0.6.53

Need to have latest Desktop Editor, which is version 0.6.53. Guessing that's the issue...

I found it. Idk what the hell that was about. I checked at like 8 o'clock tonight and the only one I saw was for 5_53. Now I opened it and there it was. 6_63. Go figure. Thanks.

The same thing happens to me on my computer. Do have anything on your computer that allows to open the file in a zip file so you can unzip it?

I'm glad I'm not the only one! So have you been to DL any presets at all?
My desktop editor is the latest version 0.6.53. I tried to DL with The Unarchiver but no go.
