We have 2 major products in the pipeline. If all goes well, October 8 is the next release date. Some hints will be forthcoming. We also need to finish the C4 and Hub integration.

Correct. The other 2 are much farther along. Hardware, graphics, and general feature set are nailed down. The Multiwave is still in the concept phase.

Send a quick email to Disaster Audio. They're really good about replying.Your suspicion about firmware is probably the correct answer. They add the new devices with each new version of the firmware, so with the Spectrum so recently released they may not have yet. Though the newest firmware is from the past few weeks from the last time I checked...so check to make sure you're updated.

Yeah I goofed. I needed Version 1.51c for my DMC 3XL and the Spectrum works with "Source Audio C4" in devA. Thanks for the advice.

I'd buy a C4 in Ventris/Nemesis format, with 5-pin MIDI.
I'm not the biggest fan of the Hub I have to admit.

But then the price of the C4 goes up to $350 or $400. Not that many people will pay that much for a synth pedal and I cant cover the development costs. Note that with the Disaster Area products you can go from 5 bit to the USB input port on the C4. The Hub is not the only way to give the C4 MIDI.

Yep. I keep touting this lil' nug for those who want 5-pin but don't want another controller or the added features of the hub.

It's the same footprint, but 1" instead of 1.5" tall...should stow nicely under a board. It's pre-order but out soon.

As to price from a buyer's perspective... I haven't done the math, but C4+Hub or C4+DA would maybe get you close to a "big C4" price?

If I can take pedals off my board due to C4, I have space for things. Also I might have room to move from mini-Polytune to a Peterson Strobo-HD.

I think the economics are that yep, it's the 'same price' but there are plenty who will spend 239$ who aren't going to spend 350+. But those who will can buy the two units.

Understood that it would be nice to have. There is just not a big enough market. And, the FI is already in that larger format space as an option with that feature set.

I think sometimes we can wish for things without necessarily needing to debate the market.

I do think it is important for everyone to understand how we have come to our decisions and it actually helps me to defend those decisions. Sometimes we are wrong! Such as, I did not expect the success of the C4 at the level it is so far.
