Weird- I use CC105 without any secondary data (no off data 1) to de-select every preset I programmed to my Soleman.

Which manual said CC102 and on Data 1 of 0-64 off/65-128 on?

Sorry, was going off memory. Got it exactly backwards!

I've had good luck with 105, but can't seem to get 102-104 to work consistently, at least as CC messages.

It will be once the hub is updated, to recognize the c4, at that point I would try using the hub firmware rather than c4 in the device menu of the DA controller.

In terms of using scenes rather than using commands to the pedal? Because for a single pedal that's a whole secondary set of 'programming' given I'll be triggering the C4 directly from my C4.

It ends up being a toss up right now. It's a wait for the C4 update and it's a wait for the Micro gHost, neither of which get the pedal properly implemented currently for my use.

Hey man... back to mixing Root Shock #2... some of us are waiting you know. ;-)

Still digging Vol 1 and wishing you a west coast tour.

Lol. Thank god you don't have to depend on me for the mixes. ;)

Did you ever get to the EP or follow up single?

Getting closer to being out there. Signed to Madison House (Boulder CO)for national booking representation and our routes are getting longer and wider. So within the next year I'd expect us out there probable in a tour-support slot.

Nope. I’ll go looking for the EP. good news on the agency front I expect. There are two Reggae fest in the region. And if you make it out this way, there is a certain Reggae loving sound company at your beck and call ;-)

Very cool. At the very least I'd hire someone in to do FOH sound who knows our material. ;)

As solo drives they're not bad actually.

The drive block has very simple controls on its own, just Drive Mix and Volume, but the C4 also gives you Bass and Treble controls and SA's LoRetain outside of drive blocks for further tone sculpting. You could apply pre or post EQ somewhere else along the signal chain to get even more mileage out of the engines too.

Personally I haven't made any isolated Drive presets just because I have an Aftershock next in line.
I was actually considering diving in at some point and isolating the Drive engines to see if the C4 could stand as a drive pedal. I did enjoy Foldover, Single Clip, and the low gain overdrive tone when I was familiarizing myself with the C4's different blocks.

I've said it before but, imo, the C4 is a REALLY impressive solution as a MultiFX unit if a person had to choose only 1 pedal to work with.

I flipped through them dry just to get a sense and yeah, they're workable. If you're the kind of person who's been through 15 fuzzes and has fairly specific tone ideas or whatever then you'll probably end up keeping your 3 other board fuzzes on board, but if you're looking for a decent representation of a fuzz, distortion or overdrive you'll find it.

Thanks, thats what I was hoping to hear.

I'm just curious, has anyone dug deep into the distortions on the C4? I'm feeling like I need an OD on my board, but don't want to spend the cash if I have one sitting there already.
Dare I say that we have really deep experience in digital bass distortion pedals. Perhaps more than any other company?

@johnk_10 and I agree 100%. The Aftershock pretty much ended my eternal search for the perfect dirt pedal and to replace my very rare specimens live. the Aftershock with all the available controls allowed me to mimic the unique characteristics of the drive, saturation and tones and create my own special flavours without the need for circuit bending or burning my fat fingerz. Hoorah! The C4 has a nice selection of fuzz and distortions that work well for synthesis but do leave out the more tube and overdrive types some folks might want but are there in ample proportions in the Aftershock.

Does anyone have any C4 presets on the Community board that they can point me to? Looking specifically for Tube fatness with some hair when you dig in.

The C4 does not have any Tube phatness as such like the Aftershock. You can check out my Graham Central Bootzilla for my Jet Phaser take where I use the Heavy and Bassy distortion along with a filter and phaser. Pulled Pork uses the Gated Fuzz through a filter and a bit of LFO. I am working on some other tones too/

I will soon have a Porkloin (one of my favorite OD’s!) back on my board, so that flavor will be covered. Hopefully I can get JohnK to put his special touch on it!
I’ll check out those two presets when I get home tonight. A Fuzz would be cool to add to the arsenal.
