Been listening to this new Tool album and I think it's time for me to pull the trigger on a One Series modulation box.

How many of you out there use the Gemini/Lunar/Mercury? Do you find them to be very wet effects or more subtle? Can they do both?

Gemini has a mix control for wetness right on the pedal, the other two can have the mix adjusted within the editor/app

Well, I tried going smaller, and, did so successfully, for most of this year. After getting the C4, I found I wanted a bit more control than what the HXFX gave me, specifically when it comes to MIDI. The open space next to the Aftershock is for an incoming Morningstar MC6, which should give me the controls I am looking for. Since I needed to go back to my PT-Pro, I threw the Manta and Aftershock back on, for the heck of it.

I already took my OC2 and DigiTech BSW off because of the C4. I came close to removing the Manta permanently, but I still have more tweaking on a few patches. Still figuring the editor and controls out.

I removed my octave pedal option a while back (OC2 or T-16) when I got my Future Impact. I think the C4 does that sound as well or better.

I've mentioned it before, but my real space savings will be if I can remove the Crossover->(high pass to)Fuzz->Xerograph Deluxe (with filter sweep expression). On paper it looks possible. Now just to find the reality. I think I may have a JoshWah replacement patch so if I can do that, it takes 3 or possibly 4 pedals off (because might just want to keep the fuzz). In which case I can leave the FI on my board too. I'd also love to fit one of those new Peterson StroboStompHD's on there.

Good stuff:
-NeuroHub came with updated software.
-DA DMC3-XL was super easy to update the firmware on.
-DA DMC3-XL was super easy to find and save the C4 device.

Not so good:
-DA DMC3-XL doesn't seem to love talking with the C4. I think it's probably Hub related. I did get the DA to activate/bypass the C4 but there's some oddity. The green light flashes as if there's been 'setting changes' with only on/bypass. And the reason I use the DMC is to scroll settings. That feature is DOA. You can tell that the DMC is sending signal to both the Hub and the C4(both units lights flash), but it neither scrolls sounds up or down.

The DMC is a pretty slick unit in that once you pick your 'unit' you don't need to program the CC or PC changes to scroll through MIDI patches, it has that all pre-programmed in. I have a feeling that having the 'hub' in the middle is what's causing trouble. Depending on what more eventual playing around goes on, I may be ordering a Micro-Ghost in short order. I didn't bother digging in with the ES-5 because I know my level of toleration for troubleshooting and tech-issues. The C4 is my DevA on the DMC and I've had the both the hub programmed to channel 1 and switched both back and forth on 6 to see if having one on 1 and one on another helped, but it didn't. The C4 needs to be on Channel 1 but it doesn't seem to matter where you put the hub.

They don’t come with a default value like CC103/104/105 are mapped to recall bypass/on/off. I think I set mine to CC106 and 107 for continuity. What does the DMC default for preset scrolling? Just make sure that CC# is set up in the C4 midi mapping.

That's a good question. I didn't assign, assuming some of the basics like the bypass are pre-programmed. Hey @rsmith601 any idea what the DA folks have their scroll CC's set at? I'm not sure there's a good way to access that on the DMC but I know that you've worked with them.

Just watched the Disaster Area DMC/C4 setup video and it doesn't mention the CC assign/map either.

*also reached out to Disaster Area to see if he can give me some insight and/or the info to know what commands they're using to send patch changes to the C4.

I had an interesting "discovery" his evening, somewhat related to what you guys are discussing...

Couldn't get CC messaging to work to turn the C4 off on a particular patch on my HX. I was sending an instant message to turn the pedal off, in case it was already on on another patch. Manual says use 102, then 0-64 is off, 65-128 is on. The small green light would flicker, indicating it was receiving a message. Nothing worked. On a whim, I sent a PC message instead, and, strangely, it worked. Pedal is now off when I engage that patch. Not exactly sure what the deal is.

Huh. That makes things interesting, especially on my ES-5 which is really easily programmable for PC and CC.

I didn't even try it at first cuz I didn't think PC messages could be used, from everything I've seen in the manual and in this thread.

Per Disaster Area, the scrolling is PC not CC...therefore any hope of currently using the Neuro Hub and a DMC to do patch changes won't be functional. Which is my problem.

So...that's a 90$ hub I didn't need to buy. Sweet.

Weird- I use CC105 without any secondary data (no off data 1) to de-select every preset I programmed to my Soleman.

Which manual said CC102 and on Data 1 of 0-64 off/65-128 on?
EDIT: ok manual is below. So CC102 is simply for on/off toggle. I don’t use it, I set it up where say I send CC104/80 to turn on preset 81 and then send CC105 to disengage. Set up as latching on the Soleman. If I want to turn the effect back on I hit the button again and it sends 104/80 again to turn it back on.

It will be once the hub is updated, to recognize the c4, at that point I would try using the hub firmware rather than c4 in the device menu of the DA controller.
