I will also echo that the Collider does not appear to be bass friendly. Losing the feedback filter low cut and high cut on the delay side and the bass and treble controls on the reverb side are a huge loss.

On a minor point, there’s no spillover on the reverb side.

I spent some time looking for a video that has some C4 for you, but its only been on my board and in use for a few weeks, so there's nothing up yet that I love. In the meantime, here's a song that has nothing on it...but it goes from quiet and slow to full freight train.



And that's it because I'm not trying to co-opt this thread.

As a keyboardist who started in full analog- dual oscillator, 6 note polyphony- the C4 is very attractive- However, my entire life as a keyboard player, I have sought to recreate authentic bass and guitar tones- with only modest success so the C4, in part seems the antithesis of my lifelong tone search- yet I will probably get one

...I was truly about to get a Nemesis and Ventris- those two would be more versatile but also considerably more $$$...

I'm kinda there with you...
I already have a Nemesis and it's not going anywhere.
For my use, I'd rather save my nickels and dimes and add the more powerful Ventris than save $50 and duplicate delay functions.
For my limited reverb needs, the ancient EHX Holy Grail still works fine. Some day I'll upgrade to the Ventris.
Without the Nemesis in the house, the Collider would be attractive but...

That sound is actually ZERO synth. It's generally distortion/fuzz->filter (expression swept frequency)->delay with a volume swell that controls the envelope. Fools 'em every time. Also, I regularly get "I totally thought that was your keyboard player on the Moog until I noticed he wasn't playing the Moog and then I saw it was you playing"

This is the stuff that will start to come out as it hits the market. Totally not a bad thing, especially for where this pedal is trying to fit into the market.

I think SA sells boatloads of the Collider. Which will fuel the compressor, EQ, preamp, and modulation spaceship they will build us!

I should clarify- I was referring to the C4 talk as of the past month or so- what I have learned is that the C4 is way more than ANYONE expected- just that on my list, gotta have a delay, and octave/filter first- the C4 looks quite adequate in that department. Still was considering a Spectrum to KISS, but I am not averse to a total control concept board.

To the folks suggesting adding reverb after my C4 - I have a Rainbow Machine after it, not too much detune and kind of a reverb effect. Think I'd benefit from trying something like an Iron Ether Nimbus instead?

I think it all depends on what you are trying to accomplish with the sound.

I don't have reverb on my board but sometimes run my tape delay at a really short return and it gives me enough of that "cavern" sound.

Are you integrating your C4 with MIDI functionality? If so, I'd choose a MIDI-friendly reverb. Otherwise the IE Nimbus is a great verb.

Yes, I'm using it with a Morningstar MC6 - I'm basically new to MIDI pedals, are there any reverbs you'd recommend? I'll also start Googling...

I have absolute confidence that these will sell well, it’s just unfortunate that bass players were left behind a little bit. It would also appear that there is no external loop function. I thought that maybe it would be a good buy if I could stick an HPF/LPF in the loop, but no dice.

You could stay with Source Audio with a Ventris, Strymon makes the Big Sky, I've been using Dr. Scientist's The Atmosphere, and there's a few others out there. I'd think if you're already doing 'patches' why not get a good MIDI pedal and you can tailor the verb to whatever C4 sounds you're using.

Totally forgot Neuro needs to be updated manually. I just took a peak and yeah you're right. I was thinking this could replace my RV-500. Looks like Boss gets to stick around a little longer.

Well, I'd like a more versatile delay/reverb, but I'm also hellbent on sticking with the Nano+. So I guess it will be the Keeley for now, which is awesome in its own way.

I think my main hesitation here is that I've never really used reverb on a board before and every MIDI pedal I'm seeing is fairly expensive, seems like a high price for entry into an effect I might not even like using. Maybe I should look in to getting a cheap multi effect to at least give it a shot.
