Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

Make sure your running the latest version of the desktop editor for any new updates (7.22) you’ll probably have to uninstall the editor first before downloading the new, there’s been some patching issues with the latest version for some reason. You can the version under the help menu.
That was a good tip, I was running the latest version but did not do an uninstall before. Now I uninstalled, deleted the folder and reinstalled the software. No newer firmware, but now I'm sure they are indeed the latest.
alternatively, the c4 can be run from usb midi, if you have a gen3 disaster area controller, you won’t need a second hub, or you can get the disaster area micro ghost if you don’t want another hub.
I don't have a disaster area controller, but I have a midi commander by meloaudio. It has a USB connection, which I use at the moment to power the unit, but I know it can be used with a computer or tablet. Later the day I will grab an active USB hub and plug my computer, the C4 and the midi commander into that USB hub and take a closer look.

In that setup it might work, but only because of the computer if it does. You will need a device capable of hosting usb midi, and that typically only works for one unit at a time, so you won’t be able to use a usb hub to hook up multiple devices. A disaster area micro ghost, or midi plus usb host, or Kenton usb midi host would be what you would need to run the C4.

How old school/ new school. I wanted footswitch able dub style hanging delays while mixing from stage, playing bass, singing ... I could do it with the switch in the pic but... that one closes and opens new recording sessions.

... now I have a rather old school (aux out to delay, returning on an audio channel) on a switch at my feet. My bandmates won't have any idea what to think... I'm definitely going for the surprise factor... let's see who falls off the cliff ;-) beauty is that we have a few arrangements where there is that gap just waiting to be filled...

@rsmith601 ...
I was just thinking to one thing...

What do you think of an empty box where we can download any presets of the SA cloud ?

One Gemini preset + one Nemesis prest or Aftershock + True Spring or EQ + Ventris for example ?

Same design that the Collider, with 128 presets... or C4 with blend/level/ctrl 1/ctrl 2 ?

It would be a great "best of" pedal
and very useful to complete the SA ecosystem (for guitarist : 2 delays Collider + Ventris,)... i hope not so much expensive to create. Soleman/Neuro Hub can rise again and more Sorcerer's Society members I bet...

Also a good tool against Eventide H9, Hx Stomp box ou the new Plethora ?

Thanks for your job !
Great products from you.

Not entirely SA related, but I saw Devin Townsend live last night and Nathan Navarro from the SA bass demos was the touring bassist and he was awesome. Not as good as Devy but not much is. Probably the best live band I've ever seen.
We miss having Nathan in the office day to day....but we are very happy for him!!

thanks the link doesnt work, i found what I needed tho from amazon!
Did the Amazon cables work? In an attempt to keep my board as clean as possible I also purchased a mini-B to mini-B from Amazon. I wanted to eliminate the extra cable length and adapter connection the gHost introduces, but the devices don't recognize one another despite having been set up (USB set to Host, etc.). I know the DMC.micro needs to have pin 5 of the connector pulled to logic low in order to go into “OTG” mode, but I have no idea how to check whether or not a particular cable will do this. Clearly the one I bought does not. Any suggestions from folks who succeeded in this area?

Has anyone gotten their C4 to interface with a DMC.micro without using the gHost adapter, just a USB mini-B to mini-B?

MIDI CHANNEL QUESTION

So I'm finally finding time to play around with my setup since I'm home sick :)
My setup is: Soleman, hub, C4, Aftershock, Nemesis.
So far, everything was on Channel 1 and has worked through sending PCs and CCs through the hub. However, I want to be able to control various parameters in each pedal so I decided to assign each pedal to their own channel. I first had
Ch1 Hub
Ch2 C4
Ch3 Aftershock
Ch4 Nemesis.
My soleman was then set to send out on Ch1. I have a panel to change beat divisions on the nemsis through CC42, set to Ch4. This works. However, tap tempo - even though sending to Ch1 through the hub - doesn't get recognized any longer...
I changed channels to
Ch1 C4 (as I heard it likes to be there)
Ch2 Aftershock
Ch3 Nemesis
Ch5 Hub
Same problem...

Any ideas?

Nice board.
Every time I see that first limited run of purple C4 pedals, I wish my C4 was purple.
I even got the Kingmaker Fuzz instead of the Aftershock for that very reason, it does the same thing with the editor after all.
I could get a Spectrum, and I probably will. But I want to keep that money for the wicked EQ2 that's coming out. I am very excited about that pedal, I think if it can do what I think it can do, it will make the competition's eq pedals redundant.

Personally, I've found that the hub really likes to be on Ch1. My C4 is on Ch 7 and it's working fine. If I want to pass through midi expression via the hub then I can only get it working if the hub is on Ch1. I gave up with midi expression on my Aftershock. I get a very poor response and almost unworkable, so now I have a specific patch set up on my EXH Hog 2 and I use that for my expression / volume needs needs outside of my C4.
Roll on Reflex mkII when ever SA get around to making that....

Have you been able to pass tap tempo with your setup? So far this has been the only issue with having everything on their own channels.

I'm only using the Aftershock and C4 from Source Audio on my board at the moment. Time based, ambiance and modulation are handled by Eventide and Strymon offerings. My Boss ES-5 seem to handle all my tempo over midi needs.

First- thanks, it was my first attempt at a DIY pedal board build and so far I'm pleased.

I have the first gen SA Prog EQ and it is ridiculously good. I bought it and a Broughton HPF/LPF. The Broughton was very good but in the end the SA kicked it off my board.
I'm out of power. That should change shortly. Then the EQ will come back. Or maybe it will replace the MXR.

The second gen EQ should be awesome.

Have there been any recent developments with resupplying the pedals that are out of stock (like the Spectrum ...mainly just the Spectrum)? Sweetwater said about two weeks ago that they should be in by the end of this week, but with everything happening recently I was wondering if maybe that’s been delayed.

Just sold my Mercury... To buy a second hand Nemesis :woot:

Works fine, (a lot better than Line6 stuff...) until I plug it in the Neuro Desktop : Device is recognize like "2" or " " (blank)... But in my Neuro Hub, Nemesis firmware seems to be 1.13.
My C4 and AfterShock are ok.

I've made a "Hard Reset" and a "Factory Reset", both ok, but the neuro stills not recognize the Nemesis.

When plug to the Hub, it's impossible to update firmware. Got the message "used by another MIDI device".
When unplugged (just USB to PC with no hub cable connect) I can select manually a .saxf . I tried "nemesis_243_09_2.saxf" but i got the message "not match the attached hardware"...

Somebody to help me ?
@rsmith601 / @Gibs210

In advance, thanks.
