That's pretty much what I do with my EQ2. It isn't attached to my hub, although I CC patch change via Midi from my ES-5. The fun with the EQ2 is attaching an Expression pedal to it. I have a volume patch (with dialled in HPF and LFP), a Wah patch and a Low Pass Filter patch. Plus 5 useful curves. I can still call up the full internal 128 scenes on my EQ2 from my ES-5. But I mostly use the first 8.

I keep going back and forth on wanting the Ultrawave. I’m currently running a Hyper Luminal into a C4 and an HX Stomp and I actually have room in my board for one pedal, but of course the Darkglass would be removed if I added the UW

I’m in the process of dropping to 3 SA pedals and a DI (TI to be exact!).
EQ2>Spectrum>UltraWave>TI, controlled by a DMC Micro Pro and a Hub.

What expression pedal do you use?

Hi Johno, I kept it simple (one of rare moments in my life) and got a Source Audio Dual Expression and connected it to the trrs port on the EQ2. My ES-5 talks to the EQ2 via the 5 pin Midi ports.

@munkeyfish From what I learned from @Quatschmacher you can actually use a 5 pin MIDI cable out of the Soleman for the EQ2 and then the other five pedals can be connected to the hub!

Just curious, but has anyone figured out a way to select presets in a C4/UW with midi cc and without changing the on/off status of the pedal?

well, when you flip what was more than likely hundreds of pedals over about 8 to 10 years, and you’re really happy with you have on your board after all that time and demoing and using for a while and flipping stuff, you do get to a point where you’re
Happy overall. Well, I am anyway. But yes, it never really goes away. But it it possible for it to slumber for a while. IME anyway. I never thought I’d stop having GAS attacks. But I did. It’s kinda nice.

As many Hubs on Soleman as you need! I am not sure I know of anyone with 3, but many folks have 2. Just push the SAVE button on each Hub.

Welcome back! Between the Ultrawave and the C4, there is soooo much to explore!

The trick is to keep both pedals for a few weeks, which can be hard if you need to flip the old one to finance the new one. Then spend a few evening playing with the interface, downloading patches and seeing how they work and then making an array of similar patches. So that when you've flipped the old pedal...you sort of still have it on the UW. I did with with my Mastorton. I'm thinking of making a new small board with just a few SA pedals.

So I'm thinking about possibly getting a 2nd UW for that board. I'm currently making copies of all my favourite Aftershock patches (or close to them as I can get) so that I can use just the UW for all my dirt on that board. I love the versatility and ease of use with the Aftershock and Ultrawave on my big board. But a smaller Nano plus board will be much tighter on space.

pretty sure Christian runs 3 on his board, I think I’ve run into one other person running 3 on a single board in contact emails. A few people with 3 hubs split up among boards. I’m at 2 hubs and 9 pedals on my all midi board currently. Might be room to squeeze one more one series in there somewhere.
