Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

If a Neuro Hub is settings scenes of multiple SA pedals, are there other ways besides adding a Soleman to get visual feedback that the correct scene was set? Will be having Band Helper send MIDI scene messages to the pedalboard from a tablet. Even though there should be an indication of what was sent on the tablet it would be nice to have a visual verification that the correct scene was actually received by the pedalboard. The Soleman is larger than I would like, even though it's not bad and it's more capability than I need.

This will make some of you happy:
The new MIDI adapter has special intelligence to smooth-out blasts of messages. In testing with the ES-8 this morning we blasted it with MIDI clock, a waveform CC, and preset changes. No problem. :)
Did you also try it with a big stream of expression messages? Rocking the pedal back and forth spits out hundreds of single messages in a under a second. I think it is expression use that has locked up my Hub on occasions.

DAD Micro.Pro should do that fine, yes?

The waveforms are worse than that. But, you can test it soon! :)

Random question about the Collider (love this pedal, btw):

Is there a way to phase invert the mono output? There's a lot of deep edit software settings, kinda hoping there is a 180' phase flip setting. I'm running a parallel setup and when I engage my Collider I hear some cancellation happening. Flipping the phase on my mixer does the trick, but that's not practical when using it in a stompbox/performance setting.

Update: Just got the One Control buffer with phase reverse switch and BINGO- problem solved. The Collider does indeed invert the phase of the source signal. This won't be an issue to the vast majority of users, but if you are running a parallel wet/dry signal path, you're going to need to account for the phase inversion. The Collider inverts phase in engaged mode or buffered bypass.

I also took the Gemini (I removed from my board for the C4) and added a Kingmaker Fuzz. Running the Cali76 and Gemini in the Kingmaker Fuzz effects loop and then to the Origin Effects BASSRIG SV.

Prior to the Kingmaker Fuzz, there is a Rocktron Unity Tuner that gets the Piezo pickup lined up right with a 9v battery in there and has a separate mute output and a true bypass output. (Can't explain it exactly, but the Pizeo loading works best like this.)

never weighed a bass ever. Never had issues with any bass. I keep me fit so the bass is a non factor. To me the essential part is balance.

Neither, until last week when someone asked the weight of a bass I was selling

I finally caved and made some minor adjustments to bring the C4 into the hurd...

Looking for a workaround here as I really wish the Aftershock presets were available for use on the Ultrawave. I know, I know... a lot of tools are available in the UW to try and replicate the same sounds - but some days I just dont want to do that, .

Im stuck right now, I use the AS as an "always on" OD tone for a project and i need a second dirt to fill in under the harmonized dual guitar parts. Ive got something on the UW that "works".. but dangit.. I really want one of my AS presets instead. Best option is swapping pedal order and trying to replicate the "always on" OD im using I guess.. but I would have to make a lot of changes to other presets on the UW if I changed the pedal order.

I guess what im looking for, has anyone tried to replicate the *stock* tones from the AS and care to share any? Specifically the "smoked glass" presets? Ive tried the ones one the community and tweaked one that got me close, but its not the same.

Did you mean the DMC Micro Pro? I have the regular DMC Micro and I'm researching if that can act as a display of recieved MIDI message that it passes on to the attached device. And also it could be a backup method to change scenes on the Neuro Hub if the tablet stops working for some reason.
Midi is one way, meaning the dmc is not going to be able to read settings on the c4, it only sends messages to the c4. The c4 also does not generate midi messages, so it can’t pass things like preset names back. Names aren’t really a midi operation, so if it’s a feature of something (ex: scene names on the hub being viewable on the soleman, through use of a second midi cable going back to the soleman), it’s usually custom, or sysex messages.

In short, any names displayed on the midi controller, must be manually programmed onto the controller, and not something the controller reads from the pedals connected to it.

Yup.. not quite the same. I kinda need the OD first. I lose some bite if it's not there and i just add the heavier distortion.
Yea as @coyoteboy said, I would try taking advantage of the second dirt channel and program some midi CCs on the aftershock to turn the second channel on and off.

I’ve done this for years with my La lady. Though I cheat and use CCs for I/O routing, that way I can save if only the low gain channel is on, or both channels are on to the hub scenes, otherwise it would always load with the low gain channel only if using the external switch midi cc. It still has its places, such as for A/B selecting the 2 channels.
