haha - cutting a hole for the screen is the hardest part! I found someone else who had done the code and stuck it on GitHub - the making bit is super simple- image attatched (the risk was the code wouldn’t work)

I must say that I can’t praise the UltraWave Bass pedal enough!

I love pedals and I have over 130 pedals at home. Almost 30 preamps, over 15 compressors and almost 50 overdrive/distortion/fuzz pedals.

In the end, all I really need to get my basic sound is the UltraWave and a Shift Line CabZone X. That’s it. The EQ is fantastic, maybe not in the league of the EQ2 but still, you get 3 semiparametric and 8 band graphic EQ. You’ll get a long way with that to shape your sound. Low and high pass filters.

And a great compressor, even a dual band if you’ll like that, that you can choose to put before or after distortion! And a 10 multi band distortion! I often only use 1 or maybe 2 bands but it sound just right for me.

I’m getting a second one to put together a tiny pedalboard just for those two pedals. Maybe a Disaster Area Micro Pro to get the most out of it, in a really tiny package. And maybe a Lehle P-iso to act as a small clean DI out of the second channel of the UltraWave. Then I can compress and EQ a bit to get a good clean second signal to FOH.

This pedal is just amazing!

Got rid of my Spectrum a while ago because it was getting too complicated live... well, now I miss the deep envelopes. Just haven't been able to recreate that sound with my JoshWah. Don't get me wrong, JoshWah is a great pedal, but that's not what it does. Just picked up a C4 off of the classifieds and hope that I can easily get into it. Hoping if I just narrow down what I want and JUST look to it for an octave/OC-2 kind of sound and two of the envelopes from the spectrum, I'll be okay. Any advice on getting back into the SA world after getting out because it was getting too complicated would be appreciated.

Good thing about SA it can be completed as you make it. You could easily find your favorite effect save them to the pedal and you're done. If you want to get more complicated you can here's my SA board. All I need is a spectrum and EQ 2. Maybe Collider? ...

my issue is that with the spectrum I’d have three presets but when I toggled between them, even if I held the footswitch down and had a double blink…the settings would be different when I moved from setting to setting. Was I doing something wrong?

Perhaps you were in wysiwyg knob mode?

By default, preset mode will be set to default mode (true presets that ignore the physical knobs, cannot be saved over from the pedal) the main led will blink if changes are made to indicate that the pedal is no longer in the saved preset state. WYSIWYG mode the physical knobs will override whatever preset settings you have for those 4 knobs (primary only, secondary will obey preset saved settings). Preset mode is like default, but if you make changes, you can save them by holding down the footswitch.

My search for a midi switch box is hampered by unavailable morning star and dmc products, due to chip shortages. No availability dates in UK.

Possible used dmc micro has come up. I currently just have 2 SA pedals - C4 and UW. Be handy to synch both for some combined presets. But mostly just for individual scrolling.

Will I need the new SA dongle for each pedal?
Will I have to use my exp pedal via midi?

How easy to use is the micro? Would it be better to wait for morning star?

Is this vid still relevant (3 yrs old)?

Can you rename the assigned midi number that appears on the micro to letters for naming presets? There seems to be an editor on dmc site, is this useable with the micro? DMC.micro editor

Sorry its questions, questions, Im, a midi luddite

I have the dmc and the same SA pedals. You’ll need either the midi adaptors or the neuro hub. Either would work to translate the midi for the pedals. That’s all I use the neuro for as the scenes have been less useful to me.
I use my exp pedal via midi. I don’t think there’s another way once the control input is taken for midi.
If I had the money at the moment, I’d check out a Morningstar. But the dmc does an awful lot of what I need, so I haven’t.
You can use a Name mode for presets
The editor works on pro, maybe on the older micro.
I can’t watch the video at the moment, but I remember watching several similar to it that were still helpful.
