Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

Welp.. it happened again. Just now I was scrolling through presets on my Ultrawave with the Micro, the UW just stopped working.

No green light when you scan from the hub, nothing from the footswitch. If I unplug and plug back in my PS it engages again.

This is the 5th time this has happened in the last couple of weeks. I hadnt used the pedal since it happened a few days ago. Anyone have any ideas what to try? Its a newer Cioks DC7 PS if that means anything.

This started out of the blue a few weeks ago. None of the other pedals connected to the hub/PS have had this happen.

Does the UW work as normal if disconnected from the hub or dmc micro?? Or does it still switch off by itself with nothing plugged in?

I have the Source Audio Tap Tempo but it is only Momentary. Unless i am missing something??

The pedals can be programmed for momentary or latching, depending on what your trying to use the switch for, and for what pedal.

Ok thanks. How would I connect the tap tempo to the Ultrawave and set the tap tempo to latching mode please?

I'm sorry if this is really obvious and I have missed it. I have tried to look into the manual and editor. Sometimes hard to see the wood for the trees :laugh:

Ultrawave and C4 are the ones that are limited to tap tempo only, we ran out of code after putting in all the sound capabilities, so when it was time for external control there wasn’t enough left for adding any extra control features.

Ok thanks again for the info ad getting back to me Gibs i really appreciate it.

I'm currently using my Tap Tempo switch connected to my Ultrawave and i use it to go boost EQ and give an extra overdrive sound. With it not latching i have to keep my foot on the switch to use the sound. Going back to my original question if there was 3rd party footswitch that latches on/off, would that work with the code of the pedal?
Or would it be possible to swap the momentary switch with a latching switch on my Tap Tempo footswitch??

That’s essentially using the switch as an expression pedal. Something like the strymon fav switch or from Saturn works, nose pedal, maybe analog endeavors would work and just use the expression controls for setting your min/max or on/off settings.

Thats a really good question. I can only assume so, i havent had any issues with any presets themselves, so far it shuts off only while scrolling.

The pedal completely powers off. Footswitch doesn't do anything, scan from the hub doesn't make the top LED blink - I have to unplug from my PS and plug back it in to get the pedal to work again.

Possibly noob question but - I'm leaning towards keeping my Lunar and ditching the Mobius. Thinking about what else I might want to add to my board... Red Panda? Meris? The question isn't about what to buy, but more so about MIDI signal path. So I send MIDI out to the Hub, I have my three SA pedals connected there... but the MIDI thru on the hub is a pin connection and the above mentioned brands have TRS inputs. How would you keep that MIDI communication chain going?

Make sure you pay attention to if it’s type a or b, and which type your pedal accepts. Don’t get the ones on Amazon, the majority of them are wired up for something completely different and won’t work correctly.

yo... sorry for the late reply. The UW is connected to the hub with TRRS. I have it on MIDI channel 3.

It should be noted the UW shuts down ONLY when scrolling the UW's patches while on the C bank of the DMC. It hasn't shut off when I use the P mode to switch my "scene" of the 3 pedals connected to the DMC. I have no idea when its gonna happen next, but from memory it seems like if I try to use any sort of toe speed to scroll the presets it happens- not when i slowly click, then click the next one, then click the next one, etc...

Is there anything else in the midi chain between the dmc and the hub? What if you did some rearranging and placed the ultrawave on channel 1?
