So…I really like the sounds I get from my ultrawave, but really hate that I have to use laptop or iphone to edit presets. Ended up removing and going back to hx stomp for amp tones and dirt.

But decided to give it another go again.
I use it in mono/stereo/mono, with one side cleaner and the other dirtier.
Then with midi, using expression to have more or less dirt.

On the pedal i have mapped dirt to control ch1 volume,
Level to control ch2 volume
Mix to control balance between ch1/ch2
And treble to control bass on ch1

This way I could finally get good control to tweak what I mostly need if I need a quick fix live or rehearsals.

The only problem is to not being able to save any changes on the pedal without connecting iphone. Or maybe I'm missing it?

I wish there was a midi msg that could be sent for "save preset".
Put the pedal in "preset mode" via the global menu, then long press the footswitch to overwrite the current preset.

Hi Everyone,

Could I please have a recommendation for a power supply for this assortment of pedals + the Neuro Hub. Bonus points if there is power for a USB Hub.

I have a power supply with 7 Individual outputs: 9 Volt 100mA port x 6, 9V 300mA port x 1 and it was working for the C4/Mercury/Aftershock/Ultrawave, but the recently added Collider and EQ2 seem to also require higher current and won't function on the 100mA outputs of the entry level supply.

Thanks!

The One Series pedals start with a current draw of 150mA so you should not be running them off 100mA sockets, lest you corrupt the memory from staving them of power. The bigger SA boxes are 200mA.

I'd say Strymon Zuma but with the caveat that you need to power it on before you hook up the EQ2 otherwise the Strymon power ramping messes up the firmware.

Not the cheapest, but a Cioks DC7 and 4 Expander will give you 11 high output ports that can also power some USB hubs.

Thanks. I will check these out! Is there a single Cioks (DC10?) that can get this done?

Here's an idea:
Would it be possible to make a neuro hub that does midi over usb? And would said hub be able to connect to a computer to control all the pedals with the neuro desktop app through such a hub?
I think a few of the older one series pedals might not fully support this, but the newer ones might and it would save on the amount of chords too. @rsmith601 is this possible and would you consider it? I would buy it :hyper:

MIDI over USB is one direction only. All of our pedals support MIDI over USB. The Hub's magic is in reading back and saving all the parameters on all the pedals. I am not sure we should give that up. Am I missing anything?

The DC10 is old technology, so much heavier (not trivial- I have its sister the AC10 and it by itself weighs as much as most of the rest of my board due to the giant transformer), noisier, and much less powerful than the modern SMPS supplies like the DC7/4/8/Sol/etc.

A Cioks DC7 would more than handle the task for your board. There is no need to isolate every pedal in a chain of all SA pedals (they should mostly play nicely with each-other, though probably good to isolate the Hub at least) and each outlet on a DC7 puts out 650mA (so enough to power several of these pedals at once from each outlet). You could just daisy-chain a pair of the 8 devices and run the rest off their own outputs and have plenty of power on reserve if you needed to add more in the future.

If you want total isolation for each device from a modern supply for less than the cost of a Cioks plus expander, the Truetone CS12 is a good choice (I use use a CS6 on a smaller board alongside a Cioks DC7 on the main board and they are both great, I prefer the Cioks but that comes at a premium in $$ as well)- the Truetone CS6/12 can both put out more than the labeled current per output as long as the total stays under the max of the entire supply, so all of the SA pedals should be good from any output. The Fender Engine Room LVL8 also looks like a great option for cheaper than the Cioks and even more power than the Truetone unit and could power all the pedals on isolated outputs plus has USB power like the Cioks.

Thanks for the great info and recommendations. I will have a Cioks DC7 tomorrow.

It looks like the package will include some cables to power all 8 devices, and maybe even some room for expansion!
  • Split Flex type 1 – powers two pedals of a single outlet x1
  • 3-way Daisy chain Flex type 1 – powers three pedals of a single outlet x1

It appears your whole chain is digital pedals. Someone should correct me if I'm wrong, but historically I don't think it's a great idea to daisy chain power on digital pedals. Frequently leads to noise issues. I would only try to daisy chain the hub with one of the others. Which one works best in that scenario will require some experimentation.

No, all digital is fine, it's only when you combine digital and analog or if you exceed the current draw. I have an SA board with daisy chains and no noise. The only issue with a digital pedal I've had is with the darkglass hyper luminal, that was a current/daisy issue. I ran it isolated from my DC7 no more issues..

Issues usually arise in my experience when chaining digital pedals with analog pedals, chaining analog delay-based pedals with gain pedals (due to clock noise that gets into the power signal), and/or sometimes when chaining pedals from different companies on the same chain. I haven't usually had issues with multiple digital pedals from the same company together. The Hub I would isolate specifically since it has connections to several different devices at once which is usually a great recipe for strange ground issues

Folks... I need your help. My desktop editor has stopped working. I am running V 0.86 of the desktop on a Windows 11 machine. The desktop, usb cable and usb hub I am using have all worked before. (I have to use a hub as my laptop only has USB 3 ports.) When I hook up a pedal (either my c4 or Spectrum) with the editor open I hear Windows acknowledge the new device with a chime. The editor then freezes. I can't close it - not even with the Task Manager. I have to reboot. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing. Nothing works. The pedals won't connect. Any ideas? Thanks!

Still searching for a solution. Have replaced the usb hub with a cord that has usb c and usb mini connectors. Still won't work. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the editor. My set-up used to work perfectly well. No clue what changed…

I'm running a powermax (eventide branded dc7) my board is surprisingly quiet with 17 devices being powered. Been recording and thought any noise issues would stand out more obviously, but it still seems pretty quiet (surprisingly) I would like to get an expansion but at this point it would be more for cleaning up the mess that daisy chaining so much from one supply creates. The one noise pest I seem to have is my airstep, it's sharing power with eq2 and POG (pog could be the other reason there's noise, but it seems to get along with the eq2) and when it's connected I get some wierd clock noise that goes away when I disconnect the power plug and run off of the battery (could be charging noise I'm hearing as the airstep is geared more for charging and playing remotely), so I guess that's the one spot I'd need isolation. The only other things that could cause problems is the tuner (audio signal plus display usually causes issues when sharing power I have found) and my zio (analog) those 2 items are isolated, though I think the Zio could probably share power selectively with one of the other one series pedals, but I didn't want to chance it. That leaves 4 taps for everything else (vertigo and ventris on one, nemesis and collider on another, la lady, ultrawave, and Gemini on another, soleman, 2 hubs, reflex and c4 on the last). All of this eats up just over half of the available current of the powermax, which means there almost enough juice to power this setup a second time yet.

I have a couple of the older generation power supplies, and they're heavier, have a quarter of the available power of the dc7/powermax, and are more selective in how you hook up things (different power ratings and voltages on the taps, vs 660ma per tap), it was always a lot more thinking involved setting up my board with those supplies than with the powermax.

We're looking into it, I needed to rope Jesse and Fess in to see what their thoughts are.

I had exactly the same issue and spent a few days trying to trace with help from SA. In my case it turned out that the USB system on my computer was beginning to fail. It started with the SA pedals but then I began to get intermittent mouse errors. (According to Jesse "We use the HID protocol for some portion of the pedal communication and that's the same as a mouse or keyboard. So if you're having issues with those, that would point to a system level issue.") If you have another computer available try loading Neuro to it and connect the same setup to see if works.

They also had a couple of additional tools that might help. They had a tool to fully remove all of their drivers in case it was corrupted, as well as a version of Neuro that you could run that logged additional error information for them to review.
