The tap tempo plugs into the top of the pedal like the exp pedal does so you won't be able to. Either one or the other. I like using the tap tempo with the C4. Basically every patch becomes "2 patches in one" with the tap tempo set up to control 3 parameters. Can get pretty wild as it's a momentary switch too hitting it on and off.

There are a couple of recent-ish cloud presets for the Spectrum that cause an error in Neuro for me under Windows, I wonder if they're the same ones. Will check when I get home.

Ok thanks. That might be the case. I hope that is the problem and not something else. It completely crashes the Neuro desktop app.

At that point, your better off going after midi control for these pedals if your wanting more external control.

OK thanks. But I'm not really comfortable buying into extra midi bits & bobs, plus any set up confusions. Not just to be flexible to use tap tempo on 1 song.
Maybe it wouldn't be a big deal swapping a cable once.
Could I use midi out via Ableton just for tap tempo?

Midi clock over usb would work, but you’d need a laptop handy at all times to generate clock for you.

The three Spectrum presets that cause an error on my Win10 laptop/Neuro are all from the same user (yonir); doesn't matter if the pedal is attached to the system or not. I haven't found any others that do that.

A couple of quick questions - first, how do you tag an uploaded preset as shown in the attached picture, and secondly, why does that tag only show up in the mobile app, not the desktop or website?

There’s an option at the point of editing or renaming the preset to add the bass/guitar tag.

I think this might be the workflow I'm looking for!

For scene development I have the Neuro Hub and the three pedals connected to a USB Hub via their USB connectors and then use a laptop to make changes. I use the DMC foot switches to go to the Neuro Hub scene that I want to make/change. After making the changes to the pedals via the laptop I then press the Neuro Hub Save button for 2 seconds to record the pedal details.

Try it, you might like it. I think I forgot to mention using the Disaster Area DMC.micro Preset Editor to name each patch and that way I see a recognizable name on the DMC.micro for each Neuro Hub patch. That's just for reference if I need to manually step to a patch rather than having the setlist, where I have the MIDI commands labeled, make the selection.

So far I'm approaching 100 live applications of this system if I include rehearsals that have never failed once. He knocks on wood in a prophylactic reaction to his own comment. Lol.

Hey all bit of an emergency and hoping you could help! anyone connect their C4 to a helix device via microghost? i've connected 5 min midi from the out of my hx stomp to the 5 pin in of the micro ghost and from the micro.ghost's USB Host port to the C4 via USB to mini b cable. not getting any changes happening. Micro.ghost is receiving messages as the light is flashing has i change presets, but it's seemingly not triggering the c4

I have no experience with the ghost but i would start with checking that youve selected the correct midi channel to send midi messages to the micro ghost (seems like 1 is default). Then make sure that the micro ghost is sending it on to the C4 correctly (dip switches on the back seem to regulate this?) also note that some midi systems start at 0 and some start at 1, make sure you match them up.

If that doesnt help try swapping out the USB cable, that has worked for me in similar situations. Also maybe a silly question but have you connected 9v power to the micro ghost?

Yep the ghost, C4 and the Helix all on channel 1. all powered. changed out cables. ghost LED is green so its connected to the c4 properly and is receiving messages from the HX.

Have you tried PC messages for presets? Not all of the cc messages are mapped for the c4 by default, just a few key ones.

Simple preset changes are via PC messages on one-series pedals. Source Audio confirmed this with me via email. 1-6 on older ones and 1-128 (or 0-127) on the newer kit.

So those are working and cc are not? You need to map out some of the cc controls as not all are mapped by default.

Is there any way to have instant preset switching on one series pedals? On my budget old boss multi effects I could switch between multiple distortion sounds instantly yet I'm finding it impossible with my c4 and ultrawave. At first I thought it might just be my cheapo m-vave chocolate midi board but with the ultrawave I've noticed it even with the on board toggle switch.

I've added a quick and dirty recording from this morning before the coffee took effect. I'm playing straight 8th notes with no rests and switching the toggle on the ones. Going from distortion to compressor presets gets me the new sound on one but going the other way doesn't get me there until the and of one. Which is a bit late..

If this is an inherent issue with this kind of processing I'll find a way to work around it. But it doesn't seem right. If it was a normal stomp box I'd understand because no one is leaning down mid song to flip a toggle. But this pedal is midi enabled and designed to work the hub and soleman etc. A modular multifx so to speak. But my real multifx switch on time.

What am I doing wrong here?

With the ultrawave I get that I can do the morphing and channel switching stuff but I'm not sure if that works in going from a clean compressed sound then to a distortion with different compression settings.

With the c4 it feels worse because I might want to go from a harmonized melodic line to a distorted octave sound and back again but the delay makes it difficult to switch cleanly. Am I supposed to end all my lines before the 'and of four' so I can let the pedals get ready in time for the one?

I love the sound of the pedals and maybe I just need to buy a few of each but I thought this was supposed to be a way to expand the sonic palette while also shrinking the floor board..

There is always going to be some latency with digital preset switching, but it can be minimized only if there is split processing happening (meaning the next sound is loaded already in waiting so the processor doesn't have to fully switch course into a completely new program). Having this kind of split processor scheme is something some of the expensive digital multiFX and profiling units do (like Headrush and Helix), but it requires dedicating a half of the processing power to essentially a latent task (holding the next preset already loaded and ready) so it is less common in smaller pedals with smaller processing ability (or alternatively you can use something like the "Snapshot" mode of Helix to retain your full processor power, where you are just changing settings of already loaded programs with a button press- which seems basically analogous to the morphing/channel switching in the Ultrawave). I'd guess the sheer amount of stuff happening in these Source Audio pedals adds significantly to the latency because of the amount of processing necessary (not as simple as switching a basic lo-fi digital distortion block). Even early adopters of the Neural Quad-Cortex profiler/multi-FX (one of the most processing-capable digital FX pedals around) have complained of significant latency when switching between presets rather than simply using options to stomp through different settings and blocks within an already loaded preset.

I can't tell if your sample is consistent with MIDI switching of presets on my C4, but there is no "instant" preset switching in any case.
