I'm having an issue where my C4 will only randomly follow the Midi clock from my MC6 Pro (through the Neuro hub). It appears to be happening throughout multiple presets, in both tremolo and sequencer effects. When I reboot the devices it will usually follow the Midi clock, but when I change to another preset and then back to the sequencer/tremolo one it just picks a fixed tempo that was once previously set in the preset. If I switch back and forth between different presets it will eventually follow the clock again, but there doesnt seem to be any consistency in when it will do so. The C4 does receive the Midi clock as i get a readout of the bpm in the Neuro desktop editor, which changes when i tap in a new tempo on the MC6 Pro. Same goes for the LED on the pedal, that will blink in synch with the clock. I ultimately tried a factory reset of the C4, but that also didnt help. Is there something wrong with my C4 or is there some setting i'm overlooking? Thanks!
Are you sure you have the pro outputting midi clock consistently? I know sometimes depending on how it’s set, the clock will stop when changing banks. Are you changing c4 presets via cc or are they saved to the hub? Is midi clock enabled on the preset throughout?

This is genuinely incredible and the timing couldn't be better for me. I need to do a load of present sculpting while I have some gig downtime and can't get my rig out at home (for volume and incoming new baby reasons). This is a fantastic effort that really helps me just when I need it.

I can also really see this acting as a serious draw for new customers out there. Yes pedals like the C4 et al are incredible, but online demos can only do so much. Now, you can really experience what we've all had for ages before you buy.

Very very well done Robert and team!
Roger :)
Yes, this is what so many others want too! Glad you see the value!

Gemini and Mercury are unlocked!!

Thanks for your reply! I'll investigate further tonight, but for now:
- I'm pretty sure I have set the clock to continue after changing banks, iirc by default it indeed stops if you change banks. Tapping in the clock is in Bank 1 which I use as a home bank, after that I have a few banks for playing around with all the pedals and some banks for setlists which in turn go to the banks for the songs of my band. The strange thing is that the tapped in tempo initially works for the tremolo preset in the bank of the song, but when I go back to the tremolo preset after a different preset (I haven't changed banks in between) it usually plays the tremolo at a different tempo, despite showing the correct bpm in the desktop editor and with the LED. In one bank I also have a preset on my EQ2 as an alternative tremolo using a CC waveform (controlled by the midi clock) that controls the output volume, that preset does change tempo as I change the MIDI clock bpm. I just remembered I still have the DMC Micro I used to use on the C4, that should also be able to give a midi clock. I'll try to use that to generate the clock as well, as during shows I'll be getting the midi clock from my drummer's SPD anyway. I could also try to have the DMC Micro go straight to the hub to eliminate the possibility of some setting on the MC6 Pro to be the issue.
- I've got nothing saved to the hub, I'm using CC to change all the presets (also on my EQ2 and Atlas). To be sure I'll try to reset the hub to factory settings tonight, although apart from using the scan devices button I think all I did was change the hubs midi channel.
- Midi clock is enabled on the presets where I want to use it. Like I said, the C4 also confirms it's getting the clock in the desktop editor and with the LED blinking, which I think it doesn't do if the clock isn't enabled in the preset, which leaves me a bit puzzled as to why it generates the tremolo at a different tempo..

What do you use the HUB for with no scenes saved to the HUB?

I'm guessing just as a breakout box for TRRS connection to all of the SA pedals, with connection of your controller of choice, and THRU to any other devices from the HUB?

I have the midi IN on the SOLEMAN connected to a 5 DIN connection under the board for external midi clock requirements. I'm just now going to get a HUB to integrate the C4, UWB and now going to a Collider. (The EQ2 I was using in a static end of stereo loop master EQ with no midi activity beyond acting as a THRU to SA168 devices.)

This is how I use the hub, with an RJM PBX/6X switcher handling MIDI preset and scene duties. The hub is just plumbing.

Update, unfortunately nothing I tried has changed the C4's behaviour. I gave the hub a factory reset, hooked up the DMC Micro as midi clock to the MC6 Pro and also straight to the hub. Same results as yesterday. When I first recall and engage the preset it will follow the midi clock, but as soon as I engage the preset again it will play the tremolo at the bpm that was once in the preset. On engaging the preset I see the original bpm in the editor for a second before it picks up the clocks bpm. Strangely enough it does this all the time, both when it actually plays the tremolo at the clocks bpm and when it doesn't. When I tap in a new bpm on the DMC Micro the C4 will use that bpm the first time I engage the preset, the second time it's back to the old bpm.

I'm a bit puzzled here. Everything looks allright as far as I can tell, but it definately doesn't sound the way it should.

Yes, it's basically only there to have the midi controller be able to communicatie with the SA pedals. I just upgraded my whole setup with the MC6 Pro and an ML10X and then also added the EQ2 and replaced my Hyperluminal with the Atlas. Originally I had the DMC Micro to scroll through the presets on the C4 via USB, but the two Morningstar devices combined open up a whole new world of possibilities. I guess the hub's scenes can definately be useful for some, but in my situation I don't feel it makes sense to use the scenes.

Gotcha...

I felt the same way about the HUB at the time. Now that I found out about the UltraWave Bass it's caused a big reduction of other pedals brands/types. I figured if I could move to the Collider (just sold my Boss RE-202 this afternoon) then the HUB scenes make a great deal of sense, now. I intentionally made the choice to go with the Soleman and Dual Expression Pedal to keep continuity in system interface. The guys at SA leave little to chance!

Hope the issue gets ironed out 🔊

Is your c4 running the latest firmware?

Until now it's the only thing that isn't working as I want with the new set up. However your question did remind that I had a similar thing with my C4 last year. I had a sequencer preset that would sometimes go to a different bpm then I had set in the preset. My band didnt use Midi clock at the time, it was just the C4 that seemingly decided it wanted a different bpm. I cant remember the conditions on which this happened anymore and also not if it always went to the same bpm like it does now, it just seemed random but in hindsight it could be related to this issue.

I think I'm gonna send the SA people an email as it feels a bit like I'm hijacking this thread even though its great that @Gibs210 already took some time to reply to my posts here. I'll get back with an update when it gets fixed.

The UltraWave Bass is unlocked!

If I win, pass it to someone who doesn't already own it...

Tried out the SoundCheck feature. Cool feature!

Anyone else noticing a significant volume bump between engaged and bypassed on most of the presets? Probably just an inherent issue in some of the presets.

But I do wonder if there's a way to get the levels to line up? i.e. To get around the "louder always sounds betterer" problem.

When the version comes out that has real-time parameter tweaking, you can do this.
