Source Audio Spectrum Inteligent Filter!!!

Gonna keep posting even if nobody wants to answer :bassist:

I have an order question. I usually like some kind of boost before my spectrum type pedals because I feel like it gives a nice goosing to the signal. However, I've been using my Pork Loin at 18V lately and the Spectrum seems to clip a little bit. Does anyone use these two pedals? Or just a heavy duty OD/pre type pedal. How do you run them?

Sounds great first in the chain! I kept trying to do boost/od/fuzz into it, but I think it sounds much better if they come after.

I’m thankful you guys keep putting up these killer patches. I’m starting to get the hang of some of the sounds - but total newb question - I’m digging the stereo ear candy of some of the patches but also trying to “sum to mono” for standard gig use. Is there a trick to preserving the stereo ratio to mono ... aside from the output balance & processor pan knobs?

Is there a way I can just alter the base presets to remap the knobs? Having the output volume on the alt controls is really weird and unintuitive to me, I'd like to switch it to the default controls and put one of those in it's place on the alts. I've been futzing around with the editor and if there's a way to do this I have no idea what it is. I actually really like the base presets on this pedal and don't really want to change their character, I'd just like to put the volume knob on the primary controls so I can get to it quickly anytime. Help please?

If I’m understanding the question correctly, you can simply route both processors to Output 1 only via the Mix 1/2 sections

Hi everyone!! I’m on the market for an octave and an envelope filter, new boss oc5 and the discumbobulator v2, but reading all this good review I want to give a go for the spectrum.
Can the spectrum be setup as only an octave pedal like the oc-2? (As an option out of the six ). Sometime I like to use just the octave on my fretless or mix it with just a chorus.
how does it tracks as just an octave?

Finally I got my spectrum pedal a couple of day ago..... really like it and the sound loaded on the pedal are awesome even though I still have to twist them with the neuro app.
The only thing that actually I’m concerned is about the small switch in the middle to change the sound.
Is really wobbly.....I mean.... when I switch it to change sound I can feel it is not well thigh to the pedal chassis. I own some other pedal with the same switch like the way huge pork and pickle and it doesn’t wobble like the one in the spectrum.
Now before to have a look by myself or bring it back to the shop I just wanted to ask if its happening the same for you guys that already own the pedal.

I think it is a bit wobbly and not really tight in the chassis too. I just checked it. It never was a problem though but I hope it will not be a problem in the future. Maybe it is the design and it should be like that for some reason. But better wait for someone from Source Audio to jump in.

What I don’t like is that when pressing the alt knob it jumps back from B to A after a few seconds when not touching a knob. That means you have to press that switch multiple times when dialing in the knobs and wanting to check how it sounds. Not the most convenient way. Would make more sense if it stayed in B once you press alt and not automatically jumping back so soon to A. Or maybe only jump back after 20 seconds so you have time to play and check the sound.

Yes I found that jump from A to B a bit weird too.
but as you said I hope someone from source audio jump in and give us an explanation about the wobbling switch.

I see what you are saying with the switch, but it's never been an issue. I do wish that the button on the back was maybe a switch on the top to make it easier to change, but I'm sure they had a whole thought process around that.

The toggle switch is board mounted rather than chassis mounted, that would’ve been a real pain in the butt assembly wise to have a chassis mounted toggle that you can’t access without removing the board. The hole in the enclosure protects it enough normal use not to have issues with breakage. Thoughevem a chassis mounted switch would probably break under abuse anyways.

I've been enjoying my Spectrum which I just bought a few days ago - it's great to have the options of "talking" sounds, octaves, gated fuzz and running the Mutron in Down mode. However I haven't quite nailed the standard Up response I'm looking for. Up to now I've been using a Mooer Envelope which responds absolutely perfectly for me - with Decay set to minimum, from a very closed bassy attack it immediately opens to whatever Q and LPF are set to, and then closes so quickly that I can pick pretty much as fast as I like - a sort of "wab wab" envelope which is VERY Garcia (I play guitar as well as bass). The Mooer's limits are that it only has one sound and it overdrives a little so it's not clean, but I love that response. The Spectrum seems to only be able to open a too-long moment after the attack, or open too sharply to too much treble, or close too slowly, and I've been fiddling with it for hours trying to get what I want. Can anyone help?
