Try increasing the filter Q for maximum squelch! I think one of the XD or Moog MF-101 patches with increased resonance could get you there.

And to plug a couple of less-appreciated things: the tracking and the octave tones in it are fantastic. As long as you keep your playing monophonic the tracking is fast and accurate, and I don't think I could tell the octave apart from an OC-2 in a blind test. As much as I love my new H9, it can't come close to the tracking quality of the Spectrum.

The only thing I haven't been able to figure out with the Spectrum is how to get those super-squelchy tones, a la P Funk:



For everything else filter/octave-related, it's a swiss army knife of awesomeness.

That is the sound I am talking about! I think it is Mutron. So is this easy to dial in on the Spectrum?

Unfortunately it looks like my spectrum might be defective. When plugged into power, the unit makes an audible clicking noise. The main light stays on whether the pedal is "clicked" or not. It passes a singal, but no effect.

There's no reset for this, is there? I just pm'd @rsmith601

EDIT: Looks like the pedal needs 160MA and my trex power supply only provides 120MA per slot. Ouch. It works with the provided power supply.

160 is actually on the low side for a powerful DSP pedal.

I’m sure. I just had no idea. Just got a trex isolated fuel tank and it’s not strong enough. Back to the drawing board on cable management!

Lots of good ones out there! Unfortuantely, I just bought a used TRex from Reverb that fits my board perfectly, so I have to go with that for now. IT's not so bad to have one wall wart in the mix.

No, those things are designed to hook things up in parallel. Therefore, the voltage is the same, but the current is doubled. This is a great suggestion.

I finally got to play the spectrum in band practice last night. I haven't done anything yet in terms of diving into the settings or the neuro app. I pretty much just played it as a plug and play. Sounded really good in the mix and the standard, preset envelope sounds were great and deep and very usable. I think it's a great evolution from the Soundblox version to the Manta to the Spectrum.

I guess it's really happening. Sold my manta on reverb, got my cable to power the spectrum from my TRex... I'm all in. Gonna put velcro on it tonight.

Hmmm very interesting pedal, I am using two separates .. MXR bass octave and bass envelope to create the sounds of this SA pedal .. how is the octave tracking on this?

I think it's pretty good, but I'm not the one to ask I'm not as attuned to the tracking as others are.
