Southampton Pedals show some love thread!!

Let us know how you like the ATE
I can tell you that the old one kicks much ass. Doesn't have a buttload of boost like my HBE Bajo Mos, but it's got plenty for me and it's dead transparent except for the extra little treble you get with a buffered signal. With a Fifth Gear dirty boost added, I'm sure it's even more terrific, but the old one's working just fine for me.

New knobs! I'm excited about this one! @SouthamptonPdls & @DirtyDuke any details you can tell us about this yet?

Do the bass and treble controls work on the delay sound only?

Ooh....any changes to this one since it was last tested? @DirtyDuke , I think you said the drive wasn't cutting it before. Have been out of the loop. Sorry if this has been discussed!

Yes, the drive has been changed. Hamish and I are going to test both options this weekend. The original was/is extremely unique(maybe too unique) and takes some work to get dialed in, but sounds killer when u do.........The new Od is much more user friendly and quicker to dial in, if not as unique....

In a multi pedal, "safer" might be the way to go. Then put out the unique drive as a standalone ;)

Either way, that is one of the most beautiful looking pedals I've ever seen! Super looking forward to hearing it.

Howdy all - interested in opinions on the Utility Knife - I currently have a small board (Nano+) and the idea is ting rid of two pedals (currently have a TC Electronics Chorus and Phaser on my board) to use just one. Plus always happy to support a Canadian company where possible :)

I use the Chorus on one song all the way through (this song has to have it), and the Phaser on one bass break section in another song. Might use modulation on another in the future, but currently no plans so saving real estate on the bord is a big focus.

I love mine so far! The phaser is a 6-stage phaser, so it might sound a bit different than your current pedal - but it's SOOOO FUNKY.

Thanks for the feedback! My current TC pedals have tons of options especially with TonePrints. That being said, I usually use very few of the options :)

Plus - if I use a Phaser, I want it to be funky, so your description works for me big time.

I was using an MXR phaser, TC Elec Carona chorus and Flanger. The options and flexibility were great but i wasn't really using them to their potential. They are fantasic pedals, all of them. I had previously ordered the Ictineo and a 5th gear. When the utility knife was announced i ordered one straight off based on how much i liked the previous two. I wasnt disappointed. 1 pedal and 4 great sounds, simple controls so you dont end up with option paralysis. The simple controls also make dialing in the next effect quick and easy too.

Its not often we get to buy genuine Canadian products. This is one of those time you can feel good buying Canadian and knowing you got a top notch piece of gear

The utility knife is a great pedal and a great value for what you get. All of the effects sound great. I use the chorus most, then phaser prob more than flange. I don't use tremolo very much at all. I'm really happy with it. I wish I had more opportunities for the phaser because it is soo good like Dave said.

It's really surprising just how good the Phaser and Chorus sound given the relatively straightforward controls. Each effect was really well tuned/optimized. It's GREAT value for money and also GREAT value vis-à-vis pedalboard realestate.

Something about the little tiny 5th gear. It's still my main drive pedal, and I have the V2. I just love the one knob pedals. They are my weakness. It's such an amazing tone at round 9-10 oclock, that I really don't need anything more from an OD. Slight volume boost and some nice hair - I'm good. I never change it, just turn it on and off when needed. Perfection.

Thanks to everyone who commented on the Utility Knife - fairly sure I am going to at least try one out soon. I drive by Guelph once every week so I'll reach out to the dealers there that carry this brand and see if they have the UK in stock. With all the positive feedback, I can't imagine I'll leave without one :)
