Quick question:

I need something to even out the volume between my 18v (loud) J basses and my 9v (not so loud) SR5.

At first I thought the All Things Equal was the perfect solution-and still very well might be. Looks simple and neat, and should do exactly what I need.

But, would grabbing an Ictineo instead, and kicking it on just when I use the Stingray, work also? That would give me a little more eq control for the much different sounding Stingray, plus should boost it up to match the volume of the American Elite J’s, if I set the volume to match their output?

Ictineo would be fine, but probably way overkill. That thing has a ton of tone modification capability. If you just want to equalize volume between two basses and don't need tone modification the ATE is perfect.

Yeah, I’m probably making this way more complicated than I need to. There’s a pedal that does exactly what I need, I just need to stop overthinking and buy one.
