Southampton Pedals show some love thread!!

So Utility Knife users. I’m ready to introduce it to my pedal family and I just have a few simple questions if anyone cares to chime in.

Do you typically use it on its own, or do you like to stack it with something else?

If so, do you prefer the placement of the UK before or after said effect?

It is modulation, so you can stack it with whatever else you want. My preference, not a rule set in stone by any stretch, is Modulation after envelope, before delay and reverb. Before or after dirt.

Thanks. Only thing I didn’t find if I remember is (and I could be wrong. I work nights and only had a short time) when I put it after the Envelope “JW”, it really washed out a lot of the EF’s effect.
I’ll have more time soon to mess around with it.

Favorite settings so far?

Too soon for that, but I did find a really good Reggae sound with both the tone and body controls at about 3:00, and a good slap tone at about 1:30. For the moment, I'm finding that I'm able to dial the basic tone in with the body and tone controls, and then using the switch controls to taste. I'm not sure how other people approach this. Eventually, I may need to run more than one on my board.

Ictineo gets its first gig tonight.
