I see the new Tesla uses the same principle :
Kind of on topic, does anyone know the British band Public Service Broadcasting? They write themed albums, mainly instrumental but with sampled audio from newsreels and such. Their second album, The Race For Space, has some great tracks.
It’s pretty moving in parts, there’s a track called The Other Side which deals with the communication blackout when Apollo 8 transited the dark side of the moon for the first time and I defy you not to be moved when Mission Control reestablish comms. They’re pretty good live too, saw them supporting The Flaming Lips and the whole live band with samples and archive video thing worked better than you’d expect.

Whoa, crazy timing. I just read that article and was coming here to post the link to the launch info.
We're really hoping we can be Starlink internet customers. Each of these launches brings it closer to reality.

I was just reading how they've been overwhelmed with applications, way higher than expectations. They're applying for more licenses or bandwidth or something, I forget, but yeah, increasing forecasts.

It sure doesn't feel like eight years.
In other space news, while listening to the Lab Padre broadcast of the Starship test hop the other day, they started speculating if anyone would develop technology to start capturing satellites and bring them back to earth.
I saw the stories about capturing space junk, but the idea of bringing satellites back is cool too.

I get up pretty early. Venus is very bright in the sky these mornings.
Also I saw the moon this morning in full daylight. For those that don't know this easy to remember thing as to wether the moon is waxing or waning... think of the word DOC. The moon is getting bigger if it looks like the letter "D" , O is the full moon, the letter "C" is it's getting smaller.
Something I learned way back in HS.
