Just saw this scrolling through the “Amazing Photos” thread...
Somebody forgot to carry the one... At least it won't compromise reentry. That was my first fear. I wonder what more we will learn over the Japanese Hayabusa rendezvous. Don't recall hearing a whole lot of prolific discoveries from that one, but it has been a bit.
O what a glorious boon,LRV Moon Buggy.

The pile of rocks you can walk to has been subject to several million years of geology, weather, pollution, and other terrestrial effects. They can tell you about "down here, right now." The piles of rocks that make up asteroids have been floating around unbothered by weather and people since the formation of the solar system, and can tell us far more about "out there, back then." A key benefit comes from getting more information about what kinds of elements were present when things formed, versus what was formed on Earth. The asteroid missions are cool and all, but I think some folks are getting too high of expectations. All an asteroid is is a pile of rocks.
We have a huge pile of rocks not far from where we live. I could wander around that pile of rocks all day and not find anything, but it'll be fun looking. The same is going to happen here, but the journey there and back will be fun.
O what a glorious boon,
To have a car on the Moon.
No worry of rust,
Just plenty of dust,
To kick up while being a hoon!

I heard one of the Astronauts say the moon dust was like snow. Interesting.
Moon water. I’ll be honest, I’m thinking about bottled moon water. Depending on how much there is though. Probably not much by the sounds of it.

Prices will probably come down eventually,I'm surprised how expensive it is. If they aim to bring internet to parts of the world that don't have it, those kinds of prices are going to be out of reach for many people in those areas.
Perhaps the pricing details leaked in that article are incorrect.
