Almost forgot about the total solar eclipse today in South America, not much news coverage on this one but found some pretty good pictures at 2020 total solar eclipse: Beautiful photos of the Dec. 14 sight. There are a few video replays on YouTube as well. I got to see the August 21 2017 eclipse in totality in Southern Illinois, awe-inspiring. If you get a chance to see one in your lifetime do it.

Cool. Remember, Spacex started with tiny Falcon 1 and had 3 rather spectacular failures before they made it up.

Get out and look at the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction over the next few days if you can. They will be closer together in the sky than they have been in around 400 years. Visible in early evening, western sky. I took a look through a modest power telescope last night and it was really cool to see them both in one view. Not sure what magnification was being used but I could clearly see Saturn's rings and 3 Jupiter's 4 big moons.

Not a chance for the grand celestial light show tonight. It's been pouring rain and thick clouds all day and into the night.

That is really amazing that SpaceX is developing so fast. I hope that they will get success on Mars

We had some good seeing last night, and spotted Jupiter & Saturn through a gap in the trees.

We only took a look through binoculars, but maybe if we get another clear night, I'll haul the telescope outside.
