Speaking of neck dive...

Um, not enough to counteract neck dive much. Look, the only point here is that it's VERY possible to play without your arm weight resting hard on the bass...sitting maybe not so much but standing for sure. Go look at some youtube of Jack Casady in Electric Hot Tuna where he's playing standing. During the first 4 minutes of the vid in this link (and throughout it) there are shots where his arm is reaching across the bass but is clearly hovering with no real weight being put on the instrument. I do the same thing Casady does moving my hand fore and aft to get different tones and my arm almost never sits hard on the instrument when I'm standing.

I love the way HB basses look and sound, I just havent found one that sits on me like like that and is comfortable to play.
And also, even if you do have your arm resting on the bass, as you change techniques and positions the amount of pressure is going to be varying, still leading to annoying movement.
With a light bass, a decent strap may well all that's needed - as the amount of friction it needs to provide is less than a heavy bass with the same amount of diveyness.
With my Jag SS I use a pretty thin strap, but I also use a Planet Waves Gel Shoulder Pad, sewn on to the strap through the seams (not the gel bits!). That's enough to stop the dive.

you're just looking at the same 'ol cookiecutter straps that has been sold to you that clearly doesn't work.
i design & produce a strap that clearly does eleviate the problem 100% ( & even hang a 2lb weight & show it to you in a photo ) & you roll right on past it, because you like the problems more than the solution.
i have more designs that are a bit more " conventional " for the players that can't see their way out of the box
i was accused of comparing apples to oranges,, hell ya,, i'll take an orange over an apple anyday, when the apple is flawed.

There are lots of solutions, but they all appear to have their own issues, including yours... which is not to knock it, just saying choice is good.

may i ask what are the issues that you personally had with it so i can address it & maybe modify ? ( as beta testers gave alot of input for mods )

I was slightly careful with my words ('appear to have issues' - just speaking from seeing the pics in this thread) and was not knocking your product - just saying that it might not seem like the thing for everyone!
question:
- the lower strap button is still attached by a flexible strap, while the horn button acts as a fulcrum. Aren't you still going to have a degree of motion, restricted by the length of the small belt strap?
also some might not like:
- the look (true of everything of course... but all comes back to choice!)
- it's attached to you - a pain if you swap instruments a lot
- it's not a DIY solution.

It was a talking point at one gig I played!
TBH I wanted to make something much more like what Ric5 had done - was thinking of just doing it with one long woodscrew through the strap button but couldn't find a screw long and thin enough!
Ric5 - is that how you made yours, or is it something cleverer?
... although why not just attach it to your own? could work, with a suitable piercing....
I've done it to at least 10 basses over the years and never noticed any change in dead spots or in tone. I currently have 5 basses with Hipshot Ultra-Lite tuners.
