It played fine despite the fretwear but I know if I tried selling it for a higher price I would have caught hell for their (the frets') appearance so I let it go for mad cheap. Thanks so much for the great deal. The "Spector powers" will now allow you to find a great deal yourself on a Spector 5 string. P.S. If you didnt find one yet, let me know, I will start flooding your PM's with great Spector 5 string deals that I come accross. ;) :bassist:

I got my Project NS-2A today. It missed the morning delivery truck this morning so crazy me went to the main post office to pick it up.

I installed active EMG PUPs with the Haz copy and it sounds really growly (I will post clips later)

The Frets are not as bad I thought they would be.

The only negative for this whole thing is now I dont know if I want to de-fret it. :hiding:

I see what you are talking about but in person it dosent look as bad as it looks in the photos. I dont see any other spots on the bass that seem like it was a re-finish.
Even if it is a re-finish it appears to be a pretty good job.

Speaking of re-finish, you should consider doing a re-finish on your cherry bust NS-2A.

For me, I found it would distort a little too much if I had it up too high. I dropped it down a bit, and then even more. Now I can get mean on it, and it dosent lose articulation. And I can still keep all my boost.


Anyone tried running the tone pump at 18v? I know the emg's will handle it, but not sure if the pump is built for it or what the result would be ( would it distort the pump?)

nah , im not gonna spend the money on getting that reroute filled in to keep it cherry burst and that spot behind the bridge is almost un noticeable . but , if i did decide to do it i would fill it myself and have my friend paint it white or black . but with the exception of those places around the bridge , the bass is excellent .

glad that place isnt bad on yours , maybe it just hit the flash at a bad angle . either way , looks great and sounds great ! im still envious !

I want to say that's a no no.... Patrick would know best, but I think the TP can't take 18v.
