From what I have seen with looking at my 2 Trim Tonepumps and seeing the Trim Tonepump diagram and seeing the Tonepump that bassgiant15 just put in his Euro, I think there seems to be some variations of it.
Mark, if you think you sweet spot is 20-30% thats fine, I think the main thing is to keep it even with your 4 string so you can just swap basses without changing settings on your pedals or amp.
My pleasure with the help on installing the Tonepump.
My NS-2A- clip does sound similar to the clip you sent me of your NS-2A the other day.

I think you are correct, I sold a bunch of old gear I had in my garage so what better place to spend the money then on more Spectors
and I already had the tax return discussion with my wife.

I think it's time to open up the cavity and try turning my trim pot down a bit. I've got mine set set at 50%, and clarity is a bit lacking on the E string fingerstyle, as well as distortion if I set the bass knob any higher than 60% or so .Agreed!

I've covered it a couple of times, but I'll do it again.
The Tone Pump is fine at 18 volts (all mine are running this way). The only problem is if you get a hold of one of the extremely early "beta" versions (less than one year of production) that had the internal voltage doubler. These do not like the 18 volts (I found this out the hard way) as now you've got 36 volts internally.

There are two versions of inlays:
The normal have 2 small inlays for the 12th fret
The non-dot have 1 inlay at 12th fret (like original Spector)

Thanks Phat. I knew you had chimed in on it in the past. Trim pot versions should be fine then correct?

Wow, so the Non-trim in the 2002 Euro is the same level as the Euro 5LX at 20-30%?
Absolutely as the early voltage doubled ones were late 2001 at the earliest. Trim pot versions didn't appear until 2008.
So far, that's what I'm experiencing. Totally opposite to what I expected, and it's not a bad thing, either.
Then again, there's a lot of variables going on here:
5 string build vs 4 string build
2002 all maple body wings vs 2011 alder/walnut/maple "sandwich"
TW vs PJ pickups
Tone pump differences, of course
and just simple age difference between the electronics
