I could try and describe it with names like punchy, balzy, clear, smooth, grippy, edgy, gritty, but above all is TONE! And this still doesnt describe the feeling I have right now for my Spector. I loved it before, but Im freaking obsessed now for sure! One of the best little investments I've ever made to improve sound quality IMO.

Wow. The longest I've gone is about three months and the last month was killing me. I like the bright zing. The zingyer the better.

I would be broke when this gets posted... Lol. I'd like to hear your impressions on the preamp change when you get it back. I've heard a lot of good things on here about the Aguilar preamps.

:eek: Literally Exactly what I was looking for, but I already spent my money. Hope I can sell something before they go up. Im addicted to Tonepumps, but I really must try an OBP3 if you replaced your TP for it.

Whenever im looking at miscellaneous parts I check Bestbassgear.com. I've never actually ordered from them, but I've hear good things around TB. Their prices dont seem to be too bad either.

Edit- I got beat to it. Lol

I wish! I'm changing strings in about two to three month intervals, though I've never tried circle k's.....may have to give them a shot....

Okay, so my TonePump arrived today, the install starts tomorrow! Pray for me, it's my first time doing a major install. I'm going with a master volume, blend, Treb. and Bass setup, with EMG 45TW's. I have two mini switches for the coil split function. So excited! :bassist:

I like my strings broken-in, just after they've lost their initial new string "zing" but still have most of their life in them. By 6 months a set of D'Addario Prosteels is totally dead, in my case anyway.

Circle Ks lose some of that initial zing very quickly, but they keep almost all of it, for several months. On my current set they still haven't started really "dying" yet.

I'm weird about treble though, I love and hate it at the same time. Think it depends on the specific frequencies.

My opinion, do Vol/Vol. You will have more output of both pups. Center indent on a pan pot will drop overall volume a bit. I am pulling all my pans out of my Spector's due to this. If you can find a pan that doesn't drop output, good luck!!!
