Whoa! That's some wear! I've used both and I prefer Dunlaps. I've never seen the recessed Dunlaps...rad cool!!I like that smooth profile! Did you have to do much reaming out? How much $$$ for the set?

If it were me, I'd forget the Jag and use the extra $$$ to get a higher-end Spector. I bought my first one (NS4CR) 17 years ago; I still have it, and I added a 5-string (NS5CRFM) as well - I'll never stray!
You will have no problems with the quality, sound, etc. I swear by EMGs, and the electronics in all Spectors are tip-top. Never had a problem!

Not dedicated, I just tend to prefer the looks haha! I've also owned Ibanez SR's and enjoyed the sound and feel of them. I wish I could just forget the Jag and go custom with a Spector! haha. Basically I just wanted to make sure that this bass wouldn't leave me feeling like I'd bought a cheapie.

Sorry about continuously bringing the topic back to Fenders, (they're the only brand I know really really well) but what sort of quality would you say an average Classic Legend would correspond to on the Fender side of things? (eg, Squier, MIM, MIA etc)

Thanks for the help guys, I'm hoping that I'll be able to join the club come easter

I had an 80's jazz special MIJ (the bass duff from GnR uses) and I can say that my Performer DLX was maybe a half step below that. But I liked the neck on the Spector better.

I'm not really a Fender expert by any means.... but I would equate a Legend more with some of the nicer MIJ Fenders.... maybe some one who has or had Fenders can chime in...

I ordered a 9 Volt Haz Circuit from Spector and it arrived today.

For any Forte owners, the Pot holes do not need to be made bigger then will accommodate the Haz Pots.

The circuit comes with a pre wired input jack and the wires connect to the post and get clipped in with a plastic top. (No soldering needed)
It also comes with new Knobs that fit the larger pot shafts.

I ran into a slight problem as I couldn’t get the 2 (Red) power wires into the post and I ended up breaking the post off the board. :hiding: :bawl:
But I was able to solder the 2 wires together into 1 and then I soldered it onto the board where the post broke off. :hyper: (all fixed)

So the my Forte it technically “Bypassed” just like me. :) :eek:

Nice job LimaGuy! The Haz does bring more dirty growliness...but I prefer the OBP tone, full big punchiness with a bit of growl. Just depends what tone you need at the time,eh?!

I just noticed Lima had the perfect stock knobs and I really like the big obvious white dot they have, tried painting the dot on those black knobs but it didn't stick.

Hopefully JPS will chime in soon about where i can get the real-deal like Lima got :D

Those knobs also came on the Forte's. Love em!

Thanks, but I already solved the issue. I forgot that my bass came with a set of Allen wrenches. I found one that fit and boom. Good as new.

Unrelated, but I'm getting ready to gig the Spector at a friends birthday show. I'm playing one song with his band that I recorded the bass on for his album (with my fretless J) then I'm gonna jam out with the Spector. Gonna be fun. Hopefully I can get some vids for you guys!
