SPECTOR® Club - Part 27

Well the Legend 5 I bought used is getting set up by Mike Lull. He said the preamp was a stockp pre not the haz like I had hoped, but I pick up the bass on Wednesday and am stoked. So between buying the bass used, new strings and set-up by Mike Lull, I'll still be into it under $500.00.

Hey fellas, I know this is the SPECTOR Club but....I figure since this group is so diverse what the hey. Has anyone run an Avatar 153 cab? I'm thinking of pairing this with my GK MB800.

For the price I hear good things about that cab. But being a fEARful user I would say go for the real deal. fEARful 15/6:bassist:

I used a 700RB-II with my 12/6 and it sounded pretty damn good. Now I have a 12/6-12/sub that I drive with a Bmax-Carvin HD1500. Talk about a low end punch. When I get my Spector back on Wednesday I'll really be good.:D

How do you like the fearful cabs with the spector? Always been curious about those , but i'm a sucker for the ampeg tone.

I haven't had a chance to play my Spector through it yet. When I got the bass it had gone cross country from Florida to Washinton State. The climate change had taken a toll on playability. It had a real bad string buzz going. I took it to Mike the next day. I run a BDDI, VT bass & Oxford pedal in front of my BBE preamp so I can get a few different levels of grit. I would say I get pretty close to an Ampegish tone most of the time. It's just so nice to have a 3 space rack that weighs under 20lbs and has 1500W.:D Then add into it that both my cabs are under 40lbs each.

I have a LDS 15/6 (affectionately referred to as a nEarful) and I'll say this........if you like the Ampeg tone, the fearful just isn't for you. It takes a LOT of knob turning to get that tone, and you still can't get that sealed cab feel.

Bought a LDS cab and turned it a week later for a $175 loss. Fear the LDS!!....I guess thats how it got its name...Fear the money your going to loose when you flip it!!

Finally, I have some vids. for some reason the dude who filmed it decided to put it on mediafire, (the link I posted earlier) so here they are on youtube.
Arts Barn Jam 1 - YouTube
theres 2 different jams and 2 reel big fish covers. I'm not particularly thrilled with my solos though... but then again, I never am. lol.
I haven't used my channel in forever, like, all those other videos are from eighth grade. lol. It is kinda cool to look back and see how I've improved since then though. anyway, i hope you guys enjoy these.

Nice bass solo! :bassist:
