The only bass I miss since playing my Spectors is my old Modulus Flea (RIP....) this new rebop is such a dream come true... I thinki I'll need to set up my wait in line after I get my NS6XL... That blue will match it too lol
I played my Stingray today too, and you're right - righteous tone for sure, but after playing only my Spectors for two years now, that chunky neck felt a bit cumbersome.
I'm looking forward to hearing (and playing) the new Rebop as well.

I still dig the sound of the stingray as well but the last one I had sounded really scooped to me in comparison to the full range tone of my Spector....needless to say, the stingray left and I still have the Spector so.....I am most curious to try out the Bop
Since I've started to move towards Spector more in the past year or so I've gotten rid of two Bongo's and a Modulus Quantum 5. But one thing I can't do is let my SR5's go. I've had an SR5 H for 10 years and it was primary player the whole time until I got my Euro 5LX. Too sentimentally attached to it.
I agree the SR's can sound scooped once you're used to the Spector sound. I think the single H config is more guilty of this than the HH.

Yeah the SR is a tad scooped but that is easily rectified if you have a 3 bander. I usually keep my bass and treble in the center detents and run the mid at about 70%. That sounds about "flat" for me on the SR.

All of the 5'ers that I have had wetre 3 band eq and they were STILL scooped...that is why I stopped playing them. It was kinda disappointing and yet, the HAZ circuit and even the TP are more airy..

In the Stingray world I much prefer the 2 band preamp, much less scooped and quicker to find the right tone on. My 3 band Stingrays don't get as much play time because I feel they have a little less range (both upper and lower) than my 2 bands and they are much harder to dial the right tone in on quickly.
I still can't wait to hear the Spector take on the MM pickup. The looks alone (and assumed quality and playability) darn near close the sale for me. It would have to sound like crap for me not to want one and I just don't see Spector putting anything like that out anytime soon.

I definitely like the old 2 band stingrays, but I find them to be too heavy and clunky!
I really want a Spector 5 with a MM pickup in the 3/4 position like the traditional stringrays. Add either an OBP-3 or HAZ to that and you are good to go!
...also Nordstrand just released a 2 band "Stingray" pre that is actually supposed to be an accurate recreation of the old skool pre-EB Stingray!

I prefer the 2-band EQ as well, but not because they sound less scooped, but because they sound less brittle on the highs.
I'm the exact opposite...I love the new logo. What kept me back on the Coda for so long was the solid paint with a pic guard. Too generic! When they came out with the Deluxe, I gotta have it NOW! Lol It'd be interesting though to see a headstock done with just the double S to see how it'd look...
I'd like to see a proto type. Otherwise I'm with Clark, it fits the retro image.

I think the SS logo would only look good with MOP or Abalone inlays. I definitely think the big logo fits the retro look more. It also fits the headstock better.
Wow, I go on a trip for a week and a half and we're through another thread and a new model has been announced, this club moves fast!
I got to play a Euro 4LX at the Hollywood Guitar Center, which was my first experience with a Euro. The neck felt great, the action was nice and low, and it sounded incredible. I wish I could have spent a bit more time with it.
A quick question: How low do you all get the action on your Spectors? My Rex5 is about 4mm at the 12th fret and I like that height playing fingerstyle, but tapping can be difficult, especially at the highest frets. I think I may need to tighten the truss rod slightly, but I'm not entirely sure. What action height does everyone else for their Spectors?
Just measured by B string, 2mm at the 12th fret on my Forte 5, I play finger style also.
