I always carry mine in the gig bag. I had Putnum guitars add a mid control and it made it all the better. (RBI in a box) I've had mine since the 90's sometimes. The blend control is key for me. I run it about 50-70%
Interesting. That mod sounds pretty useful, but I should probably experiment with mine a little more first before deciding if I should have it done.

what model sansamp are you guys speaking of.

The standard bass driver DI pedal. I'm loving it!

Just wanted to say thanks to you guys for the bumps on the black cherry LX4 that's over on the classifieds. I really am grateful for the help and the kind words.

However, my shame is overwhelming me right now for saying Obelisk instead of Monolith. I will now begin a hunt for an image of the monolith to use as my avatar and retire my South Park Magneto as appropriate sentencing. Terrible, terrible, unforgivable mistake.

If it makes you feel any better, I still haven't even seen that movie yet :hiding:
But I've got loads of free time to kill this summer, so it's on my 'to do list'.

Especially if you can record 2 channels at once. One for the tube emulation, one clean. Give you a lot of options down the road.

Good to know. One of my current projects is hoping to record a 3 song EP before our lead singer/songwriter has to go off to college, and this seems like a really great way to track stuff.

I have the BDDI. But I've owned the RBI, RPM, VT & VTD in the past. And I still have the Oxford. The company puts out good rock solid stuff. (made in the USA) If you buy it used and don't like it you can still sell it for what you paid.

When you get a spare minute, could you post a pic of your modded BDDI? I'm curious. I had an RBI/Carvin DCM1000 rig at one point and it was one of the better rigs I've had. I even liked it better than the Demeter VTBP/DCM1000 that I had at one time. but yeah, if it's not too much trouble... and also, how much was it for the mod and at what frequency does it cut/boost?

Like cableguy said +1. Being able to run parallel clean and effect channels is awesome.

Honestly though, I know some of you guys do in ear monitors for the bulk of your gigs, and using the Sansamp or the Radial Bassbone or even the EBS Microbass is great, but whenever I have gigs like that, I really miss having my rig behind me. And I don't know if it's just a Linus safety blanket thing, or if I really benefit from hearing what's coming from my rig the way I intended rather than what's coming through the monitors & PA... I don't feel as comfortable without my rig. Anyone else feel like this or am I just old and stuck in my ways when it comes to this?

If you have the mental fortitude and endurance to take in the whole movie in one sitting you will be transmutated into an obsidian "Obelisk" :ninja:

I know. I deserve it. :rollno::scowl:

I'm with ya... I'm 49 and I've seen the WHOLE thing at least 10 times:eek:

I like the stark, lonely state of infinite oblivion reflected by your new avatar... the OBELISK :D

It actually is a nice improvement. Magneto needed a break. I do love that film. Ooooh! Idea! Lets get Patrick to 'shop up an image of the monolith with a Spector leaning against it! How about it Patrick? Could you swing that?

not to change the subject....

My mom starts chemo today. I know some of you have been through it before. If you wouldn't mind just saying a prayer for Rachel (my mom) today. My mom rocks and has always supported my music.

you can check out her Caring Bridge site and drop a kind word (many of you have and it really means a lot to her) http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/wonderwoman0420

a little ink I got to support:

Thoughts are with you and your family brother, hope for the best for her.

No, but doesn't everyone who owns or play a Spector look like us? ;););););););););););););)

Give me a week back on the chemo and I will look like both of you, from the eyebrows up anyway LOL...

Prayers for Donny's mom and Chris. You are both in my thoughts.

Thanks man. So results today, my leukemia is back. I started chemo today and will have it all week with the next 2 weeks to recover crom the chemo. It will knock down the leukemia hopefully enough so I can go to Mayo clinic in Minnesota and have a bone marrow transplant. I will be there for around 3 months. Lots of time for some "Spector Healing" and woodsheding. Hopefully my NS-2 will be here by then and I can have lots of time to get to know him...

Thanks for all the support guys, it means more to me than you will ever know.

All the best - Chris.

I believe it was $60. It's cut and boost. Here's a link to his site.

I'll try to get pics up tomorrow. New job with 4AM wake up is slowly killing me. Must get sleep.

I am so sorry Chris. I know everyone was hoping for better news. Please know that you've got my thoughts and prayers. You beat it once, you will beat it again. The Spector Club says "F$ck Cancer." If there is anything that I can do, please don't hesitate.

Chris... my life is simple and easy.

I'm in the midst of a mere midlife crisis... not an ACTUAL life challenge.

I take my (apparently) good health for granted and have no comprehension of what you will be going through.

I truly wish you a full and complete recovery.
