I'm in the same boat with you. I've always done FedEx as I had an account and used them when I was breeding and selling snakes......yes.....snakes

I just sent a bass UPS, tracked all the way to PA no issues. Just a misunderstanding it happens. As a buyer and seller at times I know that these things are stressful to the sender also. All you can do is keep him in the loop till he gets the bass.

Ah crap. Okay, when I pulled out the USA 9 volt out of the Kramer, one of the screws on one of the knobs was stripped, so I ordered a couple of knobs, that's what came today. I had forgotten about those, bummed, I was excited for maybe the preamp and bridge, oh well, waiting a little longer, but it will be worth the wait.

Thinking more about the FedEx problem, perhaps the problem is happening in the local area of the shipper. I worked UPS years ago and it was the loaders who had the most control over whether a package was damaged. It was unusual a package was damaged in the hub by going through the conveyor system. However, if the local loader decided to just throw it behind a wall of packages in the truck or worse yet, use it as the base of a wall of packages, that was probably its best chance of being damaged. That could at least explain why some have more problems than others.

You know when it comes to shipping with Fed-Ex I feel "Snake bit" as soon as it's dropped off and headed my way.
Other things shipped Fed-Ex seem to arrive OK but basses come with boxes that are not reusable. I don't know what they do with them but a swear a forklift arm went through the one I just got, it had the bass in a bass box inside the shipping box so it was narrow at the top and the hole was across from it which would had sheered the head stock right off if it had not been.

If they even have forklifts around it's probably to move pallets of packages, but at UPS we never had anything like that. Bulk carts yes, but not forklifts. And that was at the biggest hub in the country at the time (Bedford Park, IL).

I don't think there are any shipping companies that don't have tons of bass shipping horror stories. I've shipped something like 10 basses with USPS no problems, but lots of people hate them.

Something tells me they are all the same so there is no right answer! :D

Between running an electronic business, receiving bass amplifiers and guitars...USPS, FedEx & UPS...ALL have left their share of either damaged and lost goods. Lol So what does a guy do??? Insure, ship and hope for the best! :ninja: :scowl: :rollno: :rolleyes:

That's cool. Way back when a roommate and I had breeding pairs of many different snakes just for fun. Bermese pythons, Retics, African Rock, northern pines just to name a few. Good times and crazy stories as I'm sure you could relate to. LOL. What were you breeding?

Hey guys, I have my Euro opened up, smadder set up is removed and I'm in the process of installing the BQC system. Things were going so well. I just got to the point where I realized one of the holes needs to be drilled. Ugh. No drill. So what size drill bit is this? Any tips?

Also, does anyone have a picture of the inside of your cavity with a BQC installed?

I had dwarf island relics, quad het Burmese, chondros...mostly sarong and arus, loved Kenyan sands, had the albino ball pythons and boas as well as the hypo boas when they first came from Jeff Gee.....and a lot more. Went to Orlando every year for the international reptile breeders show which moved to Daytona.....lol
