Nice to see that you took the time to use shrink tubeing on your wires.

I figured I had better since I didn't want to risk any of my awful solder points coming loose In the red bass, the black tubing is actually gaffer tape since I wasn't able to get the shrink tubing into a few locations. I got a bunch of rolls of that when I worked for the NBA and that stuff makes duct tape look more like scotch tape, LOL. I use that stuff for so many different things and it really worked well keeping my solder points in place.

John, Thank you very much. Now I have a much better idea of placement. Instead of just staring at it all I can dive back in tomorrow and get it done.

Any time man. Good luck with the install and just another quick tip. If the bass has a gloss finish, get a roll of masking tape and put that around the pot holes on the glossy part just to be safe. You don't want to risk cracking the finish or anything. My JH5 has a matte finish so I didn't have to worry about that but just another safe precaution won't hurt you.

I just got a MM this week and if it hadn't been double boxed it would have been really beaten up courtesy of Fed-Ex.

Yeah...when FedEx delivered my Ampeg BA-112 my lower jaw hit the ground!!! OMG!!! The box looked like it had gone thru the frontline of Afghanistan and back before it got to me! and the cab was damaged as totaled.

I just sent a bass UPS, tracked all the way to PA no issues. Just a misunderstanding it happens. As a buyer and seller at times I know that these things are stressful to the sender also. All you can do is keep him in the loop till he gets the bass.

I sent a 128# Ampeg PR-410HLF halfway across the USA without a problem but I pack it to the hilt when I ship. When I was a senior in high school and again 5 years later I worked in a shipping and receiving dept. and I learned how to pack. It's cheaper to pay a few more dollars for packing and weight than go thru the headache of damaged goods. Do I get an Amen?!

Ah crap. Okay, when I pulled out the USA 9 volt out of the Kramer, one of the screws on one of the knobs was stripped, so I ordered a couple of knobs, that's what came today. I had forgotten about those, bummed, I was excited for maybe the preamp and bridge, oh well, waiting a little longer, but it will be worth the wait.

A Spector delivery day is always a ray of sunshine!

I've got a Shuttle 6.0, which I got after years of playing Eden. I am curious about the Thunderfunk heads.

Thinking more about the FedEx problem, perhaps the problem is happening in the local area of the shipper. I worked UPS years ago and it was the loaders who had the most control over whether a package was damaged. It was unusual a package was damaged in the hub by going through the conveyor system. However, if the local loader decided to just throw it behind a wall of packages in the truck or worse yet, use it as the base of a wall of packages, that was probably its best chance of being damaged. That could at least explain why some have more problems than others.

I used to load/unload semi trailers...this is very true Bunk! You hit the nail on the head!

I played a shuttle 9.2 and was very impressed... it was punchy and with a compressor, it was simply amazing. I wouldn't shy away from the GB shuttle amps

You know when it comes to shipping with Fed-Ex I feel "Snake bit" as soon as it's dropped off and headed my way.
Other things shipped Fed-Ex seem to arrive OK but basses come with boxes that are not reusable. I don't know what they do with them but a swear a forklift arm went through the one I just got, it had the bass in a bass box inside the shipping box so it was narrow at the top and the hole was across from it which would had sheered the head stock right off if it had not been.

Shipping a bass in a HSC is cheap insurance and is best practice for a "safer" delivery.

Hehehe! You gotta watch them Spectors! They'll multiple for sure! Next thing you know, they'll be 10 in your room!!! Haha!

I wouldn't use a drill. Use a reamer which is so much easier and it took me only 2 minutes per hole when I had to widen them on my NS-JH5. I picked it up at Ace Hardware for $20 and it was the greatest buy I could have ever done. They didn't sell it at Home Depot for some odd reason but if you have an Ace Hardware near you, they carry them.

Let me take pictures of my Euro with the BQC installed. Give me a few minutes.
