Hey guys, I have my Euro opened up, smadder set up is removed and I'm in the process of installing the BQC system. Things were going so well. I just got to the point where I realized one of the holes needs to be drilled. Ugh. No drill. So what size drill bit is this? Any tips?
Also, does anyone have a picture of the inside of your cavity with a BQC installed?

I wouldn't use a drill. Use a reamer which is so much easier and it took me only 2 minutes per hole when I had to widen them on my NS-JH5. I picked it up at Ace Hardware for $20 and it was the greatest buy I could have ever done. They didn't sell it at Home Depot for some odd reason but if you have an Ace Hardware near you, they carry them.
Let me take pictures of my Euro with the BQC installed. Give me a few minutes.

But be careful with using a drill bit to remove such a small amount (really risky).
A ream is best but you could use a file, or a Dremal.

Any more gigs coming up? I feel like making another trip down and bringing some "stuff" for you to play.

+1 on the reamer. Put some masking tape over it to protect the finish.
Here is the BQC System installed in my Euro 5LX. It is wired at 18V so it makes the control cavity pretty crowded with the 2 batteries and all of the wires.

Here is my NS-JH5 with the BQC Control installed at 9V. Since this bass has the separate battery box, the control cavity isn't as crowded but since there is a TW pickup installed, I installed the Control since I wanted to keep the push/pull functionality of the TW.

It reminds me of the late 80's and early 90's when Spector made all the crazy colors for some of my favorite bands. Thank's to Jaymi for letting me talk him out of it.![]()
Congrats on your new purchase!
