Awesome! :bassist:

Nope, I didn't miss it...just posted mine before reading your post. :D
Why not borrow the template from the Euro shop? If there was a request from someone, famous or semi-famous maybe? I know there's a lot more hand work on the USA basses vs. Euro...plus more craftsmen in Euro shop as well. I just never heard before today that there's no lefty's made from the USA shop. Found it odd, that's all. No offense meant. :ninja:

Oh! No offense taken. I just actually had a huge lightbulb moment myself last June-July when I was in NY and saw how things are made.

That trip gave me so much more appreciation for what Stuart and crew do... but also, it really illustrated how things we think might not be really complex, can become really complex.

I think the issues with the Czech Shop templates vs. Stuart's workshop is probably more to do with the different types of machines used, etc...

I'll post a video before NAMM with some of the HD footage I shot. One of my favorites is how every horn on every USA Spector NS is shaped by hand. NO JOKE. Not kidding. It BLEW ME AWAY. I was like, really?

So if you've ever seen Spectors where the lower horn looks a little smaller... could be totally possible. Nice thing is that the master craftsman that does that at the shop... he's worked with Stuart for 19 years.

It's an amazing place. Santa's Workshop has got nothing on Stuart's. :D

hey guys, Just thought you might wanna give this a listen:
http://soundcloud.com/slapadabass69/rap-beat-for-irlbecks-class

The first track is the legend 5 into my MXR DI (with everything flat) to garageband with compression and an amp simulator. the one playing chords later on is the same but with a lot more software effects (phaser, automatic filter, and tremolo). let me know what you think!

You asked to let you know what we think. Well,.. I love it! Particularly the 1st half. Excellent head bobbing groove. Eminem, Snoop, or any rapper with a good story telling ability, could turn that into a hit. Can't you just picture Slim Shady flowing on top of that? Or maybe a female singing the hook with.... Ya get the idea. Excellent track. The second part, not so crazy about. Mostly because it loses the head bobbing factor. Overall, really excellent work.

I think my bass will now be going to Smadder!

I'll be so stoked if the bass stays in the club

Smadder is an a$$hole and spoke before he knew if he could get the money together. He can't. So it's still up for grabs. Deep apologies to Chris (I wrote you a separate note, man).

I was up all night trying to figure out how to make it happen and I just can't get it together. A custom painted 35LX for $1050... it's such a ridiculously good deal it's almost illegal.

But until I have stuff to move, I can't do it. S.A.S. really is a disease. I didn't get it until now.

Last night I had the crappiest gig ever (in ever I mean my entire 8 gigs with Winter Of Freedom :D )
We were part of this local music scene festival and each band played 3 songs...
First off we could not hear anything on stage. We were hearing the house sound more than the stage which echoed back to us and so lucky for us that our keyboard player keeps amazing time with her leg and that's how I kept time.
Then, the amp.... oh man. It was a beat up rental of an SVT 3 Pro with a 410 Traynor cab which basically meant crappy.
I had the gain at 2 o'clock and the master volume at 4 o'clock which meant that I was driving the hell out of that thing and still got nothing out of it.

The she was streamed live and so Sam captured some screen shots for us :) :bassist:
You can see Kaori trying to hear the monitors...

I hear ya! Last night I had a crappy gig too... We opened for taproot and nonpoint last night.
My rig wouldn't even work for some reason. It got power but no sound. Gonna investigate today. I had to go direct from my di. Lucky I have a Spector... :)
I still got compliments on my tone even going direct :)

Lol. No worries. I spend about the same time trying t do the same NOT to move it

You can't go wrong with a Euro. I have 2 USA Spector's and play my Euro just as much so if you are eyeing one up to possibly buy further down the line, you will not be disappointed.

Thx.

I am loving my Forte and it is going nowhere.... But I think my next bass is a Fodera.

Spector Forte 5, Modulus Q5, MTD 535 and a Fodera Emperor.... that SHOULD end the GAS for a long while!

+1000

I rotate weekly between my USA NS-4, my CRFM & my Euro, and they all kick @$$. I played my white Euro at rehearsal last night, and it lacked for nothing.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I sort of set it up so I could write something a bit different for the second half (beat, progression, texture, etc) but I just wanted to keep it simple for the rough take. My partner for the project is gonna lay down a rap about the theme of deception for our lit class. I think I'm gonna revise it a bit keepin your suggestions in mind. Thanks again!

What are the coveted Euro 5ers one should be looking for?

Sorry about the newbie question but the Euro line can confuse...

I think they are all great personally but I know some prefer the non LX models since they have all maple wings. The newer LX models have an alder back, slice of walnut in the middle and maple top so they are a bit different but I have a newer LX and just love it to death. It was my first Spector and really opened my eyes to how great these basses really are.

One thing that really drew me to the Spector's is how great the B string is. At the time I bought that Euro 5LX, I didn't own an amp so everything was played through a sound card hooked up to my Macbook with headphones. I hit that B string and the look on my face must have been priceless. Of course, the tonepump was at 100% so the gain was super hot on the bass but man, that string still amazes me to this day.
